This is Rinsen — the Chinese-style private onsen at Nishimuraya Hotel Shogetsutei in Kinosaki 📍

Built from 100-year-old bricks, wrapped in forest, with your own outdoor bath for 70 minutes (sparkling w**e included).
It’s not automatic though — you have to book it separately from your room, and slots go fast.

They have 3 private onsen styles total (Japanese, Balinese, Chinese)

I was the one teacher Western Australia sent to live in Hyogo. This is why it’s now my home. 🇯🇵

Most people pass through Hyogo and Kobe on the way to somewhere else. For me it was daily life.

It’s just a dam in Japan… until you see who’s standing in front of it 👀

📍Oyama Dam in Hita, Oita (Kyushu) has Eren, Mikasa and Armin staring up at the “Wall”. Attack on Titan creator Hajime Isayama grew up in Hita, and this dam is said to have inspired the Walls.

I failed the omiyage assignment 😅🇯🇵

Bought “a few” souvenirs for my Japanese coworkers... may have gone slightly overboard.

Omiyage (お土産) = souvenirs — but in Japan it’s basically an unwritten rule that you bring something back for everyone you work with.

Genuinely asking — if you’re Japanese or have worked with Japanese colleagues, how much omiyage is actually normal? I need real answers, comment below 🙏🇯🇵

I lived in Kobe — the actual home of Kobe beef — and I still didn't know where the locals actually go 🥩🇯🇵

The Deer Park in Nara is great but… go here instead 🦌❌

🌸✅ Cherry blossoms, a giant Buddha, and barely any tourists. Tsubosakadera might be the most underrated spot in Nara Prefecture.
