No CAR or LABOR included. This also doesn’t take into account the thousands in “misc needs”. And many of these numbers are minimum starting prices.

A lot of folks need to see this harsh reality so they can make the decision to not even get started…. BEFORE they get in too deep.

I do believe quality shops will help educate their customers on the true cost of a scratch build before accepting the work so no one gets hurt. But, customers also have a responsibility to properly educate themselves prior to formulating a budget.

The shops aren’t to blame if your finances don’t match your dreams. This is a voluntary hobby/sport. Open communication between shop and customer about this up front will keep stress levels at a minimum along the way.
