Tell Me How Good You Are: Episode 9 with special guest Mick Bull.

For almost two hundred years in this country, workers have come together with their unions to organise, act, and improve the working conditions and safety for Australian workers.

Throughout Australia’s history, unions have given working people a voice in their workplaces.

But, in recent years, trade unions across the country have attracted intense media scrutiny which has tainted and smeared the integrity of the union movement in Australia, regardless of what they have done, and continue to do, for working people.

Since 2020, Australia has experienced the enormous disruption of the Covid pandemic and a significant downturn in the economy (which has been exasperated by the escalating conflicts in the Gaza Strip, Iran and Ukraine).

In the past 6 years, the cost of living for everyday Australians has skyrocketed, including significant increases to mortgage interest rates, insurances, fuel, food, water, housing, air travel, electricity, council rates - even beer.

Joining us for this episode of Tell Me How Good You Are is Michael Bull from the Australian Manufacturing Workers Union (AMWU) in Melbourne.

Mike is a Carpenter by trade and for 16 years worked on construction sites, many of them as a Construction Shop Steward.
Between 2000 – 2001, Mike worked for the United Nations in East Timor, was an organiser with the CFMEU for 6 years and has been an organiser for the AMWU for nearly 20 years.

This episode of Tell Me How Good You Are was proudly sponsored by Fox Engineers.

Many thanks to Jamie D Drums at Superfreak Rehearsal Studios for producing the podcasts, Marcus Marcus Cahill for our theme song, Colin Bartley for our artwork.
