I have been really quiet on FB for the last 6 months(a side effect of being busy shooting and editing).

I have been working on a new modernised website (about to go live).

One challenge i set myself was to try and create a video that wraps up what Reflex Films does in 1 short message while describing how video communication clients create video communication. This is the result.

The feature length edit from The Cervantes 2026 event that happened last weekend.

I love thechallenge of shooting these events as a single shooter. The drone does the heavy lifting for the action, grab some characters via beach interviews and throw in some tripod coverage for shot variety.

Blair Gavin delivers the epic sunset backlit flare shot again.

Chris Lockwood let me take his set up for a quick sail at the end of the day - it was super slippery (in the best get planing and go fast way)

Its a big responsibility and a privilege to cover Windsurfing events with such a dedicated and stoked community of people working hard to make such a great event happen.

This is the 5th year Reflex has been trusted with the event video for the Cervantes Windsurf Challenge.

I love making the mix of drone and interview craft to showcase the mix of action and characters that make this the Premiere racing event on the West Australian windsurf event calendar.

Behold the promo video edit for the 2026 Cervantes Windsurf Challenge. I love the challenge of shooting and quickly editing these events as a one man band ( but getting coverage so it looks like we had a team of shooters)

You need a strategy to know when to get coverage from the drone or the tripod. And this event always tests the high wind limit on your drone.

This promo edit features footage shot over the last few years.

The water colour and coast is pretty spectacular. This would easily be one of the best spots on the planet to hold a Windsurf racing event.

Looking forward to covering the event again in January 2026.

It was a privilege to be in charge of the video production for the IWT Margaret Rive 4 star event. We had Paul Van Bellen on dedicated drone coverage, so i was able to focus on getting all the beach vibes and interviewing the key players on the day. Knowing that we had the action covered I was able to focus on alternative coverage , characters in the event and some extra tripod /tele lens coverage.
Having Rob Goyen calling the action delivered some great audio to backbone the whole showcase.
For this event video we really wanted to let the audience get to know the personalities of the riders- and i think we did a great job of that.
With high performance conditions, great action coverage and great characters the edit was a blast to put together.
