RTRFM is an independent radio station in Perth, broadcasting 24 hours a day at 92.1FM & RTRFM.com.au

RTRFM is The Sound Alternative: an independent, non-profit community radio station that provides an alternative voice for Perth through innovative music and talks programming. RTRFM provides a platform for local news and issues, with a strong focus on the arts, culture, social justice, politics and the environment. We champion local music and support musical diversity through 50+ specialist music

programs and a huge program of events. The range of sounds and voices heard on RTRFM is reflective of our role as a community radio station. RTRFM is an outlet to people in the community who might not otherwise have access to broadcasting. This allows us to broadcast music and information that cannot be found anywhere else. But RTRFM doesn’t just reflect the community by giving its members a voice – we are also funded by the community. Through subscriptions, donations, sponsorship and attendance at RTRFM fundraising events, the community is what keeps us on air. RTRFM would like to send our love and condolences to the family and friends of former 6UVS and RTRFM presenter Simon 'Boogie Man' Kendrick who passed away earlier this week.

Simon was one of the founding members of Soulsides and presented Black and Blue, Getting Hectic and few hip hop shows.

Much love to his family, friends and those he shared music with.

For the last 7 years we’ve spent Monday going Out To Lunch with Rhian Todhunter, getting into weird and wonderful new music.

Joining OTL back in 2019, Rhian has been a gift and a guide on your airwaves navigating the freak-folk to the black-metal, the egg-punk to the dream-drone…

Today we say a big thank you to this incredible broadcaster as she wrapped up hosting Monday’s Out To Lunch program.

It’s goodbye for now, not forever - Rhian will still be around the station in many guises and you’ll still hear her voice from time to time.
