🌈 What is your rainbow bringing you today?
I was thinking about rainbows this morning I had to duck out and there it was, and it reminded me of when my daughter was little. And not so little.
Whenever we saw one, we’d chase it.
We’d get in the car and try to find the end of the rainbow. And somehow those rainbow chases would end with us eating ice cream or stopping at a park to play.
No plan. No productive reason.
No wondering whether we should.
We just followed the colour.
And they are some of my most beautiful memories.
And I wonder when we stop doing that?
When do we become the woman who needs a good enough reason for everything she wants?
The woman who feels the flicker of I’d love to… and edits it almost immediately.
That’s silly.
I don’t have time.
What will people think?
I should be doing something more useful.
Maybe later.
We become so good at editing ourselves that eventually we don’t even realise we’re doing it.
We edit the want before we say it.
The idea before we try it.
The excitement before anyone sees it.
The no because we don’t want to disappoint someone.
The yes because it might not make sense to anyone else.
And maybe becoming The Unedited Woman isn’t about blowing up your life or becoming someone completely different.
Maybe it starts much smaller than that.
Maybe it’s noticing the rainbow…
and letting yourself follow it.
Before you make it sensible.
Before you explain it.
Before you ask whether anyone else understands why you want it.
Because maybe the point was never to reach the end of the rainbow.
Maybe the point is discovering who you become when you stop editing where you’re allowed to go.
Sometimes there’ll be something extraordinary at the end.
And sometimes there’ll just be ice cream and an afternoon at the park.
Both sound pretty bloody good to me. 😂🌈
So tell me…
What is your rainbow bringing you today?
And before you answer…
What would you choose if you didn’t edit yourself first? ❤️ let me know ⬇️
