We honestly didn’t realise just how much we needed this upgrade until we started counting how many things we had charging at any given time 🤔
Phones, cameras, GoPros & drones there was ALWAYS something needing a charge⚡️

We’ve always loved changing things up when we camp.
Sometimes we leave the caravan at home and head off with just the Ram and our swags & now our freshly renovated camper trailer has added another valuable option.
The caravan simply can’t get into every place we want to explore, so we love having different setups depending on where we’re heading.
But that’s when the charging circus really began.
The chargers we had in the truck weren’t fast chargers so everything seemed to take forever to charge.
With all our gear we were constantly swapping cables & moving chargers around just to keep everything powered up.
So when we laid our eyes on these from Campervan Builders we instantly knew we needed them.
We’ve installed the Treklo 100W dual port USB-C PD & USB-A QC socket in the camper trailer plus three of the 12V–24V USB-C 100W + USB-A Flush Mount Waterproof sockets between the camper trailer and the Ram.
They’re very similar but have slightly different outputs.
The TreKlo has a 100W USB-C PD port plus a 36W USB-A QC port, while the flush mount version has a 100W USB-C PD output plus a secondary 18W USB-A QC3.0 charging port.
The 100W USB-C PD output is also Starlink compatible with the suitable cable & both options are dust proof & waterproof.
The 12V–24V USB-C 100W + USB-A Socket is a waterproof flush mount version while the TreKlo PD PRO USB-A +USB-C Charger Socket 100w 12-24v has backlighting, which makes finding it at night so much easier💙
Such a simple upgrade but for the way we travel these are going to get a LOT of use.

We honestly feel incredibly lucky to call this our backyard 💚
When spring starts creeping in and the weather begins to warm up something just switches in us. The colours start appearing everywhere, the days get longer and that feeling of wanting to pack up and disappear somewhere takes over.
We’ve been doing this for years in all sorts of different setups. Tents, swags, camper trailers, caravans and now this.
This is exactly why we’ve invested so much into this off-road caravan. Not because we need all the bells and whistles but because every feature, every bit of technology and every solar panel we can possibly squeeze onto that roof is there for one reason.
F R E E D O M
Freedom to go further, stay longer, find the places that aren’t on the tourist map and pull up somewhere completely remote and call it home for a few days.
We’ve deliberately built a setup that allows us to chase the places we love rather than chase caravan parks.
Some of the places we’ve been lucky enough to see have been completely indescribable. The kind of places you can take a hundred photos of and still never quite capture what it felt like to stand there.
There’s always another track, another coastline, another hidden camp and another place we’ve never seen before waiting somewhere out there.
We don’t want to wait for someday. We want to see it, experience it and keep making these memories while our boys are still keen to jump in and come along. As they get older and life starts pulling them in different directions we just hope they’ll always know there’s a spot around the campfire waiting for them.
So yes, we’ll keep maxing out the roof with solar, adding the tech that makes us more self sufficient and building our setups around one thing, being able to chase this lifestyle for as long as we possibly can.
Because for us, this isn’t just camping.
This is the life we love and that will never change!

The next addition to our camper trailer was all about adding a little more ambience around camp✨💙

These Rock RGB LED lights were actually something we were originally going to add to our caravan, but this time around we decided the camper trailer needed a little bit of extra atmosphere too.
Because let’s be honest sitting around camp at night is one of our favourite parts of being away.
And these aren’t just your ordinary lights either.
They can be controlled straight from an app on your phone with heaps of different colours and settings to choose from. You can even have them sync to the beat of your music, run dynamic light patterns and operate them using voice commands 🎶📱
So whether we want something subtle around camp or want to turn things up a little, we’ve got plenty of options.

Another little upgrade ticked off the list and we reckon these are going to make sitting around camp at night even better!

At this rate you can actually see our little camper transforming more and more into what we’re now calling our GLAMPER 😂
Let’s just say roughing it is starting to look a whole lot different around here 🤭

The next part of our camper upgrade was this modern dimmer switch from the team yet again at Campervan Builders, who are quickly becoming our number one go to shop 🙌

After fitting the Dotless LED strip lights yet again another fabulous product from Campervan Builders which don’t require a diffuser we found that at night the LEDs were quite bright.
They looked great but sometimes we just wanted a little less light.
With the addition of the dimmer switch we can now adjust the amount of light to suit and set the mood at night.

Another little upgrade that makes a big difference to our once was camper, now becoming our glamper 😂

We’ve officially upgraded our camper trailer with this awesome bit of tech⚡️

After our very first trip off grid with our camper we realised just how much power we had left over in the at the end of each day.
We simply weren’t putting all that stored power to use like we could.
Usually when we’re off grid we run most of our gear from the RAM but when we sat down and had a proper think about it, it just made sense to make better use of the power already sitting there in the camper.
So we’ve now installed a Renogy 2000 watt Power Inverter from the team at Campervan Builders, our one stop shop for all our everyday camping need 🔌🔋

The installation was super easy and something we were able to do ourselves and now we’ve got the flexibility to power up our laptops, charge our gear and run whatever else we feel like directly from the camper instead of having to run a power lead back to the truck every time.
It’s a pretty simple upgrade, but one that makes so much sense for the way we travel.
The flexibility this is going to give us around camp will make life off grid even easier and the best part is we get to put it to the test on our next adventure in less than two weeks 🙌🏼🥳

We can’t wait to see just how much easier this little upgrade makes our trip this round off grid.

Something we never thought we’d have to write and honestly we wish we didn’t have to 🙁😔

There was a time when Instagram seemed to be where we encountered most of the negativity, while Facebook was a place where we could share our travels and memories with people who genuinely enjoyed following along.
Sadly, lately that seems to have changed.
The nasty comments, nit picking, sarcasm and even outright abuse have really started to get to us and honestly it hurts !!

We share our travels because we want to not because we have to.
We love travelling, exploring new places and making memories together as a family.
Our photos and videos are our own little travel diary and something we’ll look back on for years to come.
We don’t share our adventures to show off, make anyone jealous or rub anything in anyone’s face.
We simply feel incredibly lucky to experience these places and enjoy sharing a little piece of our journey with those who genuinely enjoy coming along for the ride.
What hurts most is being judged or attacked over a photo or a few minutes of video without knowing the story behind it.
You see what we choose to share.
You don’t see everything behind the camera.

So from now on we won’t be replying to the negativity, sarcasm or personal attacks.
We won’t argue, explain ourselves or waste our time and energy on it.
Please don’t private message us with things like “You’ve been reported to the police and they’re on their way” just to mention one.
That sort of behaviour isn’t okay.
We’ll simply delete, block you and move on.

Our travels are our memories.
That’s what they’ve always been about and that’s what they’ll always be.

To everyone who genuinely enjoys following our adventures, leaves kind comments, shares your own stories with us and comes along for the ride, thank you 🫶
You are the people we adore and the people who keep us wanting to share.

So we’ll keep travelling, keep exploring and keep making those precious memories.
We live by our motto:

One of the best things about wandering around these remote parts of beautiful WA, is that you just never know what little pieces of history you’re going to stumble across.
This camp was another one we found scouting around on Google Earth which has become our go to these days when we’re searching for those out of the way spots and what a find 😵🧡

Right out in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by one massive rocky outcrop, with that jaw dropping, rich orange earth stretching all around us, endless views and big skies.
The best part yet again was not another soul was around except for a few curious goats drinking from the local watering hole right outside our van window 🐐 🐐🐐🐐

While exploring the rock we spotted something we definitely weren’t expecting, an old Lands & Surveys marker set right into the rock with “BALLAN” on it.
Of course we had to stop and have a closer look and that sent us down a rabbit hole trying to uncover what it was marking, how old it is and the story behind whoever put it there all those years ago 🤔

It’s crazy the places you can stumble across without even looking for them right!!

We came across this massive wide open bitumised area literally in the middle of nowhere and once again in true Wheatland Wanderers style, we’ve somehow managed to stumble across another little slice of heaven and have the whole bloody place to ourselves 😝
Getting the van up the track was a bit tight though.
The bush had got a little overgrown so there was a bit of rubbing and a tiny bit of trimming on a few of the nasty branches but we got the van in.
So for everyone who tells us, “You won’t get that American truck and a 23 foot van into tight places” well we reckon we’ve proved that one wrong a few times now.
Honestly there isn’t one place we’ve wanted to get our setup into that we haven’t been able to.
Sometimes it’s a bit tight, sometimes there’s a bit of bush to deal with but that’s all part of it.
And when you get in and realise you’ve got a place like this all to yourselves it’s so fricken dam awesome.

Happy Father’s Day to our Cam ❤️

Where do we even start ……………
We bloody love you Cam.
More than we could ever put into words!!
You are the heart of our little family and the person who has been beside us through every chapter, every adventure, every high and every low.
Watching you be a Dad to our boys makes me so bloody proud.
The bond you have with them, the way they look up to you, the laughs you share and the memories you’ve made together over the years that’s the stuff that really matters.

We’ve spent so many years chasing this crazy life together, travelling roads, finding places, sitting around campfires and collecting memories.
But when we strip it all back it’s never really been about the places we’ve been.
It’s always been about who we’re there with.
And I wouldn’t want anyone else beside me, or anyone else beside our boys than you 🫵

You’re our person.
Our Dad.
Our best mate.
The best husband.
Our home, no matter where in the bloody country we happen to be parked.
We love you more than you’ll ever know Cam ♥️

And to all the other incredible Dads out there we hope your day is filled with love, laughter and plenty of special moments with the people who mean the most.

SPRING HAS ARRIVED 🌸

September is here and our favourite time of year has officially arrived 🫶
We honestly LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this time of year.

There’s nothing quite like watching the bush wake up, the warmer days roll in and nature start putting on one hell of a show.
And then there are the flowers 🌼🌸🌺
Everywhere you look there’s colour, new blooms and another little reminder of just how bloody beautiful this country is.
Spring makes us want to get outside, explore more and soak up every single bit of this incredible season.

Our favourite season without a doubt.
We bloody love you spring 🐝☀
