A muddy good time!

First time mud crabbing, we found an old rusted up pot beneath the mangroves and thought we would try our luck.
No rope, no problem, sacrificing the tie downs in hopes of a keeper.
Fish frames from the local fish shop a few cable ties and a little slip and slide through some mud calls for a great time!

The kids got amongst it and wanted to do anything they could to help, along with the hundreds of times asking if we could go check the pot 😂

Over a couple of days we caught a few good size keepers and a few that got to go back to fight another day.

📍Opal Mine Adventure - Lightning Ridge

A little bit of an airy feeling walking down the steps leading you underground to an old Opal Mine! Jed of corse was in his element, eyes wide open hoping someone left a little treasure behind 😂

Days like these make homeschooling so easy, the endless questions, curiosity and the amount they retain when it’s something they are interested in!

Tucked behind a Sugar Cane Field, a beautiful camp on a family run farm that has been passed through 5 generations and still holds as much passion as the day it began!

Cows roam free, Mud Crabs are tasty, Bats squeal through the night sky and sunsets soak the land around. These kinds of farm stays are the ones that feel like you’ve been welcomed home after a long trip away!

I love when we stumble across these WikiCamps and Hipcamp Australia finds and they turn out to be incredible!

I could share so much but it’s one of those little gems you need to come and experience for yourself!
