Birdsville Races ready!!!!
So looking forward to the next couple days!!
We’ve met some amazing people on our way here and around town!! I do really love being in the outback!!!!

The joys of dirt roads and rocks!!
In almost 3 years I’ve been very lucky and haven’t damaged a water tank. Today we lost water out of all 3 tanks!!! Such is life 😊

Disclaimer…sorry for the odd bit of swearing in the clip….

Quilpie!! I love the Aussie outback and this town is an amazing example of how good the towns out here are!!!
We stopped here for the Kangaranga Do Street Party!! And it was heaps of fun!!
We raced in the bathtub street race over at least a kilometer!!!!! (It was as all of 20 meters…felt like further haha)

The Brick hotel is where we had a beer and it was awesome!! What a great country pub….
All I can say is visit, stop, patronize and enjoy these amazing country towns….😊

Charlotte Plains has been an amazing place to stop and recharge.

The water coming from the Great Artesian Basin are amazing to soak in and the Private Bath experiance was a fantastic way for us to catch the first Sunrise of Spring 🙂

What a great last day of winter we had!!!! Charlotte Plains, at the hot artesian pool with a cracking sunset!!!! And today we woke up to an amazing first day of spring!!! Bring on the change of seasons!!!! 😊

Toogoolawah in QLD just north of Esk is a great little town!!!
There is a free camp, a cracking pub with some quirky artwork and a great beer garden and great country hospitality!!!
It’s only an hour and a half from the Sunshine Coast and would make for a great weekend away to relax. We used it as an overnighter on our way west to the Birdsville Races and are glad we stopped.
The feed at the pub was excellent and the free camp was really quiet!
There’s a toilet at the old railway station and water taps around the place as well.

Birdsville Races has been a bucket list trip for me to do for many years, and this year it’s finally happening.
The birdsvilleraces organizers have a “Roadies” trip that you can tag into along the way!!!
We met a couple of Roadies here at the Nindigully Pub yesterday.
We’re working our way further west today and are looking forward to catching up with fellow race goers as we travel!!

So the Chevy is finished!!!!!

The last touch was done today…..the sign writing!!!!

Val and the team at Stickerman Australia on Aerodrome Road, Maroochydore have done an amazing job!!!

The new logo has come up amazing and the colours used on the Chev stand out so well on the Canopy built by alloyutecanopies ….which is amazing…(I’ll have a full run down on the canopy in the coming weeks)

After visiting Arnhem Land last year and finding out how easy it is to get the permits and do the right thing, I still don’t understand why anyone would have an issue with doing it??
It’s all about mutual respect I think…
