𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗙𝗨𝗡𝗡𝗬 𝗧𝗛𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗔𝗕𝗢𝗨𝗧 𝗙𝗜𝗡𝗔𝗟𝗟𝗬 𝗖𝗛𝗔𝗡𝗚𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗬𝗢𝗨𝗥 𝗟𝗜𝗙𝗘… 𝗡𝗢𝗕𝗢𝗗𝗬 𝗧𝗘𝗟𝗟𝗦 𝗬𝗢𝗨 𝗛𝗢𝗪 𝗕𝗟𝗢𝗢𝗗𝗬 𝗪𝗘𝗜𝗥𝗗 𝗜𝗧 𝗙𝗘𝗘𝗟𝗦 𝗔𝗙𝗧𝗘𝗥𝗪𝗔𝗥𝗗𝗦. 😂
For years we talked about changing our life.
Then we actually bloody did it.
The shop was gone.
The stupid o’clock starts were gone.
The routine we’d lived for decades was gone.
And suddenly Marty & Sam had all this space in our lives that we’d spent years saying we wanted.
You’d think we’d be running around high fiving each other.
Nah. 😂
We looked at each other like…
“RIGHTO… NOW WHAT THE HELL DO WE DO?”
Because here’s the bit nobody really talks about.
When you’ve done the same thing for that long, it becomes part of who you are.
We were Marty & Sam from the butcher shop.
Then one day…
we weren’t.
And as exciting as that was, it was bloody strange too.
We’ve travelled.
We’ve laughed.
We’ve spent more time with family.
We’ve probably celebrated a little too hard judging by what the bathroom scales had to say. 😂
And life has thrown us a couple of reminders lately that none of us really know what’s around the corner.
That’s made one thing even clearer.
𝗪𝗘 𝗗𝗢𝗡’𝗧 𝗪𝗔𝗡𝗧 𝗢𝗨𝗥 𝗢𝗟𝗗 𝗟𝗜𝗙𝗘 𝗕𝗔𝗖𝗞.
We’re building the next one.
The online business.
The family time.
The laughs.
The adventures.
The stuff ups.
And whatever other ridiculous situations these two manage to land themselves in. 😂
We don’t have every part of the next ten years mapped out.
And for two people who spent decades knowing exactly what tomorrow looked like…
that’s actually pretty bloody exciting.
Maybe changing your life isn’t about having the perfect plan.
Maybe it’s just reaching the point where you finally say…
𝗜 𝗗𝗢𝗡’𝗧 𝗪𝗔𝗡𝗧 𝗠𝗢𝗥𝗘 𝗢𝗙 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗦𝗔𝗠𝗘.
That’s where our next chapter started. ❤️
And looking at those two photos…
same two idiots.
Completely different chapter. 😂
And we reckon there are plenty of people our age sitting there right now thinking…
𝗧𝗛𝗘𝗥𝗘 𝗛𝗔𝗦 𝗧𝗢 𝗕𝗘 𝗠𝗢𝗥𝗘 𝗧𝗛𝗔𝗡 𝗝𝗨𝗦𝗧 𝗗𝗢𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗦𝗔𝗠𝗘 𝗧𝗛𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗙𝗢𝗥 𝗔𝗡𝗢𝗧𝗛𝗘𝗥 𝟭𝟬 𝗬𝗘𝗔𝗥𝗦.
There is.

𝗧𝗪𝗢 𝗬𝗘𝗔𝗥𝗦 𝗔𝗚𝗢 𝗜 𝗧𝗛𝗢𝗨𝗚𝗛𝗧 𝗜 𝗪𝗔𝗦 𝗟𝗢𝗢𝗞𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗙𝗢𝗥 𝗔 𝗗𝗜𝗙𝗙𝗘𝗥𝗘𝗡𝗧 𝗪𝗔𝗬 𝗧𝗢 𝗪𝗢𝗥𝗞.
𝗧𝗨𝗥𝗡𝗦 𝗢𝗨𝗧 𝗜 𝗪𝗔𝗦 𝗔𝗕𝗢𝗨𝗧 𝗧𝗢 𝗟𝗘𝗔𝗥𝗡 𝗔 𝗛𝗘𝗟𝗟 𝗢𝗙 𝗔 𝗟𝗢𝗧 𝗔𝗕𝗢𝗨𝗧 𝗠𝗬𝗦𝗘𝗟𝗙. 😂
When I first reached out to Brendan and Rae I honestly had no idea what I was walking into.
I was curious.
Probably sceptical.
Definitely had a million questions.
And knowing me, I probably asked all million of them. 😂
But the last two years have taught me more than I ever expected.
They've taught me that not everyone in your life will understand what you're doing.
Some people will cheer you on.
Some will surprise you.
And some will show you pretty bloody clearly where you stand with them.
That's life.
I've learnt that you're going to have days where you feel unstoppable…
and days where you wonder what the hell you're doing. 😂
I've learnt that confidence isn't something you either have or you don't.
You build it.
By doing the scary s**t.
By getting things wrong.
By learning.
By getting back up.
And doing it again.
But the biggest thing I've learnt?
𝗜𝗡 𝗠𝗬 𝟱𝟬𝗦 𝗜 𝗔𝗠 𝗡𝗢𝗧 𝗙𝗜𝗡𝗜𝗦𝗛𝗘𝗗 𝗕𝗘𝗖𝗢𝗠𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗪𝗛𝗢 𝗜 𝗪𝗔𝗡𝗧 𝗧𝗢 𝗕𝗘.
Bloody hell, I think I'm only getting started. 😂🔥
I'm more confident.
I'm stronger.
I've learnt skills I never thought I'd learn.
I've met people I never would've met.
I've been knocked down plenty of times.
And I've discovered that when I really want something…
I can be one stubborn bitch. 😂
Am I where I want to be yet?
No.
And that's probably the exciting part.
Because right now, at this stage of my life…
𝗜 𝗚𝗘𝗡𝗨𝗜𝗡𝗘𝗟𝗬 𝗙𝗘𝗘𝗟 𝗟𝗜𝗞𝗘 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗕𝗘𝗦𝗧 𝗩𝗘𝗥𝗦𝗜𝗢𝗡 𝗢𝗙 𝗠𝗘 𝗜𝗦 𝗦𝗧𝗜𝗟𝗟 𝗕𝗘𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗕𝗨𝗜𝗟𝗧. ❤️
And I know something now that I didn't know two years ago.
Give me something I really want.
Give me the opportunity to learn.
And let me put the bloody work in.
𝗜 𝗪𝗢𝗨𝗟𝗗𝗡’𝗧 𝗕𝗘𝗧 𝗔𝗚𝗔𝗜𝗡𝗦𝗧 𝗠𝗘. 🔥
Not anymore.
So if you're in your 50s thinking maybe you've left it too late to become a completely different version of yourself…

“WE WANT TO DO SOMETHING DIFFERENT.” 😂
They probably should’ve run.
Instead… they helped us. 😂
They answered the stupid questions.
They explained things more than once.
They backed us while we learnt.
And somewhere along the way…
we became bloody good mates. ❤️
Poor things.
They had no idea what they were signing up for when Marty & Sam landed in their world. 😂
And that’s one of the best parts of taking a new direction that nobody really talks about.
You don’t just learn new skills.
You meet people you would never have met.
You build friendships.
You find people who get just as excited about your wins as you do theirs.
𝗪𝗘 𝗪𝗘𝗡𝗧 𝗟𝗢𝗢𝗞𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗙𝗢𝗥 𝗔 𝗗𝗜𝗙𝗙𝗘𝗥𝗘𝗡𝗧 𝗪𝗔𝗬 𝗧𝗢 𝗪𝗢𝗥𝗞…

Look at the bloody office. 😂
Phones.
Paper everywhere.
Security cameras.
Two laptops.
My glasses thrown on the desk.
And me sitting out the back of the butcher shop trying to learn something completely new.
I wasn't confident.
I certainly wasn't good at it.
Half the time I didn't know what the hell I was doing. 😂
But I was curious.
And I kept learning.
That's the bit people don't see when they look at what Marty and I are doing now.
𝗜𝗧 𝗗𝗜𝗗𝗡’𝗧 𝗦𝗧𝗔𝗥𝗧 𝗪𝗜𝗧𝗛 𝗖𝗢𝗡𝗙𝗜𝗗𝗘𝗡𝗖𝗘.
𝗜𝗧 𝗦𝗧𝗔𝗥𝗧𝗘𝗗 𝗪𝗜𝗧𝗛 𝗖𝗨𝗥𝗜𝗢𝗦𝗜𝗧𝗬.
One laptop.
A million questions.
And one stubborn woman sitting in the back of a butcher shop thinking…
There has to be more I can learn than what I already know.

Look at them.
The kids were little.
The shop was our world.
And Marty was behind that counter doing what Marty did.
Back then we weren't thinking about “the next chapter.”
We were thinking about getting through Christmas. 😂
Orders.
Customers.
Bills.
Kids.
Life.
And that's the funny thing about 25 years.
While you're busy living it, you don't realise how much can bloody change.
There were brilliant years.
Hard years.
Years we'd happily do all over again.
And a few we'd probably skip if given the option. 😂
But here's the bit that gets me looking at this photo now…
𝗪𝗘 𝗧𝗛𝗢𝗨𝗚𝗛𝗧 𝗧𝗛𝗔𝗧 𝗪𝗔𝗦 𝗢𝗨𝗥 𝗟𝗜𝗙𝗘.
We had no idea there'd come a day when we'd close that chapter and start learning something completely new.
No idea we'd build a business online.
No idea we'd be learning skills we'd never even heard of back then.
And definitely no idea Marty & Sam would end up plastered all over social media.
Jesus. 😂
But maybe that's the best thing about life.

EVERYONE'S HAD A GUTful.
The FIFO workers want out of FIFO.
The business owners are over working every bloody hour.
People with jobs are sick of their jobs.
People without jobs can't find one.
People want more time.
More options.
Something different.
Jesus… no wonder everyone looks tired. 😂
And we're not laughing at that.
Because we get it.
What we find interesting is how many completely different people are saying basically the same thing:
“I JUST DON'T WANT TO KEEP DOING THIS.”
That's what starts so many of the conversations in our inbox.
Not people saying…
“Sam, I've always dreamed of building an online business.” 😂
Most haven't.
They're simply looking around thinking…
THERE HAS TO BE SOMETHING ELSE I COULD DO.
And sometimes that's all it takes.
A bit of curiosity.
A conversation.
Having a look at something you wouldn't normally look at.
Maybe what we do will suit you.
Maybe it won't.
But if you're sitting there thinking “Yep, I've had a gutful too”…

Honestly.
Of all the things Marty & Sam could've ended up doing…
we found one where not shutting up is actually useful.
You couldn't make this s**t up. 😂
We talk to people every day.
People we've never met.
People from all over Australia.
People with completely different lives to ours.
And within about five minutes we're usually carrying on like we've known them for years.
That's the bit we love.
Hearing people's stories.
Finding out what they're looking for.
Having a laugh.
Answering their questions.
And sometimes helping someone realise there might be another option they hadn't thought about.
That's pretty much our day.
Yes there's a business behind it.
Yes we work bloody hard at it.
Yes there's plenty we've had to learn.
But the heart of it?
PEOPLE.
And thank Christ for that…
because if this business required us to sit quietly in a corner all day…
WE'D BE ABSOLUTELY SCREWED. 😂
