Press Release: Marking the Global Unification of Jieng Communities and Launching the Egypt Chapter

The Jieng Global Community (JGC) is delighted to announce a historic gathering of Jieng Communities from across the world on 27 December 2024, marking a significant anniversary of our collective unity. In a notable first, the event will take place in the Arab Republic of Egypt, reflecting the growing international presence of the Jieng people and our unwavering commitment to global cooperation.
Foremost, we recognize the exemplary leadership of Mr. Manyok Makeith, Chairperson of the Jieng Global Community, whose vision and dedication have guided the establishment and reorganization of Jieng communities at the international level. Under his stewardship, the JGC has created a unifying platform that not only brings Jieng people together but also promotes collaboration with diverse stakeholders for the advancement of all South Sudanese.

Mrs. Amaan Majak, Secretary for Social Services, serving as the Acting “Queen of the Day.”
Mrs. Amakou, a key figure in organizing this inaugural event in Egypt

Their participation and leadership underscore women's invaluable role in uniting and empowering the Jieng Global Community.
At this inaugural Egypt Jieng Community event, we will celebrate our shared history, foster new partnerships, and discuss strategies for sustainable development in South Sudan. We extend an open invitation to all Jieng communities, South Sudanese at large, and our global allies to unite, exchange ideas, and join hands in this vital endeavour.
