Powerhouse Parramatta to open its doors on November 7
WESTERN Sydney's first state cultural institution, Powerhouse Parramatta, has confirmed it will open to the public on Saturday, November 7, 026, marking of Sydney's most significant cultural infrastructure projects since the Opera House. Set on the banks of the Parramatta River, the $915Mmillion museum, which includes a $7M philanthropic contribution and the delivery of a new collection storage facility at Castle Hill, is being positioned as a major new landmark for Australia and a global cultural destination for Western Sydney. Most of the museum's exhibitions will be free to visit. The opening line-up features five exhibitions showcasing more than 3,000 objects, over 1,600 of them drawn from the Powerhouse's own collection.
