Work in progress. This sculpture has been bubbling away in the background for a few months. The cost of the Perspex tube nearly scuttled the whole idea, but what the heck 🤷Sewing 30cm long gum leaves are an experience and a half. I have 3 started in my hoop, and another 10 leaves to do after that, before I even start the gum nuts. And I need to have it completed within the next 6 weeks 😳😳😳

Big fan girl moment. Went to Newcastle today and met Meredith Woolnough. It was her online course that started me on my art journey

Another commissioned piece completed. When I saw the photos of this tree, I was immediately drawn to the colour of the leaves. Just not what I expected. And boy, am I happy that I was able to capture those colours. So happy with the final piece.

My gum leaf bookmarks have been very popular since my FLORA exhibition in February at Art at Jezzine gallery. I have found it very hard to keep up with sales, but these 6 are on their way to the gallery tomorrow

Like a kid in a chocolate factory today. I have wanted a red or pink flowering gum for many many years. Killed a couple when we lived at Laidley. Now we have 2 planted on our tiny little Saunders Beach block, and the first has finally started to flower. The parrots were into it this morning, and dropped some blossom on the ground. Score! And I have all these blossom caps too. Heaven! Threads out, matching colours. So while I was already out, the banksia got the treatment too. Luckily it’s only a metre off the ground, so I can get up close and personal to it, unlike the gum blossoms that are nearly 10m off the ground.

I approached this piece with trepidation, but it just came together beautifully. Very, very happy.

This is taking me out of my comfort zone. A request that has been sitting there for awhile, and that I have been putting off while I have been doing pieces for my exhibition. It has behaved thus far, fingers crossed the rest goes as smoothly

It seems everyone loves gums as much as I do. My last 3 sales in the last few weeks. My “FLORA” exhibition at Art at Jezzine gallery finishes on the 26th February. I spent the day there today, and spoke to so many people. The lady that purchased my big red gum piece, the one that I never wanted to part with, was so lovely, and her story as to why she wanted it, left me so happy that she gets to look at it everyday, but I will miss it so much
