🎣 Chasing quality jigs that get the job done?

Berserker Meathead Jigs have been a cracking addition to the tackle box. Tough, well made and built for serious fishing. 🔥🐟

Hey guys, if you’re looking for something to do in a couple of weeks, Snez and I are heading along to this one and we’d love to see a few of you there. 🍻🎶

My brother James and Michelle are putting on a Sunday Sesh at Seven Hills Estate in Conondale on Sunday 20 September from 11am–4pm.

We’re going to kick back, have a few drinks and listen to young local musician Henry Catania play for the afternoon. There’ll also be a free sausage sizzle.

It’s BYO drinks and chairs or a picnic blanket. They’re just asking for a $10 donation per family, which goes towards supporting Henry and his music.

Numbers are limited and you do need to RSVP, so please don’t just turn up. Email [email protected] if you’d like to come along.

📍 315 Grigor Road, Conondale

If you’ve followed OBM for a while and feel like coming up for a Sunday afternoon, it’d be great to catch up and have a beer with you. 🍻

See you there!

Some places just don’t look real from the air. 🌊🏝️

A tiny sand cay, crystal-clear water and a whole crowd of locals claiming the best bit of real estate. 😂🐦

This is why we love exploring our backyard. 🇦🇺

If you could stand anywhere you’ve ever stood before, where would it be? ❤️

Snez and I have covered a fair bit of ground together over the years, plenty of highs, a few lows and no shortage of adventures in between.

Still climbing. Still exploring. Still us.

Where’s one place you’d go back to tomorrow if you could?

My day job… well, sort of! 😎🌴

I help out from time to time at Agnes Water Beach Boutique so if you’re in Agnes Water, pop in, have a look around and say g’day. You never know, I might even be there! 😂

Plenty of great gear and always worth a visit when you’re in town.

One of the reasons OBM1770 is taking a little hiatus from fishing and travel. ❤️

Meet Harley, our beautiful grandson and a pretty bloody good reason to stop the world for a while.

The fish will still be there. The adventures can wait. These moments won’t. ❤️

Who else has a grandchild they’d stop the world for?

Last week we had to say goodbye to our much-loved Wilson. 🏐💔🐾😞

For 13 years he was part of our family, by our side through all the good times and everything life threw at us. Thirteen years of loyalty, companionship and unconditional love.

Anyone who’s ever loved a dog knows they’re never “just a dog”. They become part of your family and leave a bloody big hole when it’s time to say goodbye.

Thanks for 13 amazing years, old mate. You were loved right until the end and you’ll be missed more than words can say.

Rest easy, Wilson. 🏐❤️🐾🌈🐟

Hard to believe I survived this one. 🙃

Back in 1990, one of my first jobs as a steelie was working away from home on the construction of Stanwell Power Station near Rockhampton.

I was heading home in my absolutely immaculate EH when I ended up in a head-on on the Bruce Highway north of Gin Gin.

I had to be cut out of the car. I went through the windscreen, was bleeding from both ears and remember spitting pieces of glass out of my mouth.

Both femurs were broken, with a compound fracture of the left femur, along with a broken jaw, a skull fracture through to the eye socket and around 200 stitches.

No seatbelts. Somehow I survived.

Looking at this photo 36 years later, I still wonder how the hell I survived it.

I’d genuinely love to reconnect with anyone who was involved in my rescue or recovery that day — police, ambos, rescue crews, witnesses or any of the hospital staff who looked after me in Bundaberg. If you were there, or know someone who might have been, please tag them or get in touch.

I’m sure plenty of people following OBM have their own accident, near-death experience or lucky escape they still can’t believe they survived.

What’s yours? 👇
