When You’re Running on Empty -

Hey mate, Let me share something with you, if you’ve listened to the podcast you probably know Ive struggled with what some might call “burnout”. I was ticking every box—being present for the kids, coaching behind the scenes, doing my best at home and work… but inside, I felt completely ho...

Mental fitness matters just as much as physical strength. -

Something that’s been playing on my mind is the concept of mental fitness, could also be called mental health but what’s the next step from there? I mean if you train hard then You push through reps. You show up when it’s tough.

Feeling like you’ve lost a part of yourself since becoming a dad? You’re not alone.

A lot of blokes I talk to are doing everything they can to show up for their family — but somewhere along the way, they stop showing up for themselves. They are grateful for their families and are trying their best to make everything work, however they just feel like there is something missing.

There is a feeling that they lack direction.

You start to wonder:
👉 “Who even am I anymore outside of being a dad?”

Sometimes we feel like modern fatherhood requires us to be everything — emotionally available, physically capable, mentally switched on, financially stable… and if you’re not careful, the version of you that once felt alive and grounded can start to fade into the background.

Sometimes you need to let go of the old version so you can step into a create your new reality but the path to do that isn’t often an easy one.

That’s why I’ve brought back the weekly Unstoppable Dad emails.

Each one is packed with real topics, practical tools, and honest support for dads who want to lead with strength — not just in the gym, but in life.

This week’s topic:
“The Modern Dad Identity Crisis — and How to Reclaim Who You Are.”

Feeling unsure as a Dad? You’re Not Alone. -

Let’s start with something honest: A lot of dads are silently wrestling with this feeling… 👉 “I’m not sure who I am anymore.”

It’s Been a While – Let’s Catch Up -

It’s been a minute – nearly a year, in fact – since I last landed in your inbox. Life has a way of moving fast, and if your world’s been anything like mine, you’ve probably had a lot going on too.

It’s been a while.

Sometimes other things need to take priority — and over the past 6 months, I made the decision to step back from the podcast and the outward-facing side of the Unstoppable Dad Project.

Life was full. I was still coaching and supporting dads behind the scenes, but I also needed space — to be more present with my family, honour other commitments, and dive into something I’ve felt called to for a long time: becoming a counsellor.

It’s been a challenging, but incredibly rewarding season. One that’s given me even more perspective on what it means to lead, to grow, and to truly show up — not just for others, but for myself.

They say growth happens outside your comfort zone — and that’s a space I’ve always tried to live in.

Now, I’m excited to re-engage with this community.

Starting next week, I’ll be sending out weekly emails again — filled with practical tools, honest reflections, and strategies to support dads who want to build both physical and mental strength, as well as real-world athleticism.

While email will be the main focus of my outward-facing work moving forward, the podcast will return in a limited capacity — and you’ll be hearing a bit more from me here on socials too.

But the priority is on delivering high-quality emails that are designed to educate, support, and hopefully inspire.
If you’re not already on the list and want in, you can sign up via the link in my bio — or head straight here: http://eepurl.com/iuLFfY

And if you’re ready for support with your own goals — whether it’s building strength, reclaiming your energy, or finding more clarity in your day-to-day — I’ve got a few spots open in my online coaching program.

Looking forward to hearing from you soon.
Matt

What’s been the biggest win you’ve had so far this year?

I love hearing about people’s successes, one of the main reasons I got into coaching in the first place was to help guide others to success. What ever that looks like for them.

For me personally my biggest win so far this year has just been to take some down time. Sounds a bit counter intuitive to what most would say for the start of the year. I’ve got to spend a lot of time with the kids, do some training and study and get myself into a good headspace for this next season of life that’s coming up.

So doesn’t matter if it’s been training, life or anything else share some of your wins for the year below 👇

I see this shared by today.

Here it’s the first day back at school for our kids today and this is a message I want them to always remember, it’s also something I want for everyone I come in contact with. There was a time when I was younger that I thought others success would diminish mine, that’s simply not true any adversity we face isn’t caused by someone else success, it’s just a part of our journey.

With the beginning of the new school year, it also marks the end of another phase for us as a family.

I’m about to embark on a different adventure one I have been working towards for the last few years, this is one of the reasons I’ve been so quiet on the social media and podcast front for the last few months.

It’s been a few months of soul searching and focussing in on what’s important.

The Unstoppable Dad project is still here and providing training programs for those looking for a tailored sustainable plan to fit their busy life. I’ll be back to sharing a little bit more regularly over the coming months.

Hope the year has started there way you wanted it, whatever you chose to do I hope you succeed!

Your thoracic spine (mid-back) plays a crucial role in your posture and overall mobility. But if you’re sitting for long periods or slouching over a desk, it can get tight and restricted, affecting your entire body!
✨ Why Thoracic Mobility Matters:
Improves posture 🧍‍♂️
Eases upper back, neck, and shoulder tension 💆‍♀️
Increases flexibility for better movement in daily activities 🏃‍♂️
Supports your lower back and reduces the risk of injury! 🚫
Prioritizing thoracic mobility can prevent chronic pain, improve your breathing, and keep you moving freely. Grab your foam roller and try this stretch to open up your mid-back and feel the difference!
