Hey everyone, Chris here and I wanted to hijack the page with this post on R U OK? Day.

Having served as an R U OK? Day Ambassador up in Bundaberg, I know how important it is to ask that simple question. I encourage you to Trust The Signs and to check in if you think you recognise someone going through a change.

Even after being an ambassador, I went through a few challenges a few years back. Having honest conversations about how I was feeling were great first steps to turning things around, combined with refocusing priorities, exercise and putting my health first.

You don’t need to be an expert to have a meaningful conversation. Simply asking "Are you okay?" and listening without judgment is enough.

I know for men going through tough times that sometimes you don't have anyone checking in. If that's the case there's lots of good social groups out there such as The Calamari Club or Grab Life By The Balls who provide safe places for you to speak to someone.

The Nambour Chamber of Commerce September coffee catch up was held at the Nambour Museum. As always, it was very well attended with what appeared to be more than 50 people dropping by. It was great to hear more about the museum, as well as other relevant local business news. There was also an opportunity to look around the museum, which includes the old Eudlo sugar cane train.

If you are in Nambour and need a caffeine fix, you really can't go past Suren and the team at Small Change Espresso Bar. They are the go to coffee place when Chris is in the area. Top people, fantastic coffee and outstanding food as well. While everything on the menu is great, our advice is to try the curry.

It was fantastic to have 7NEWS Sunshine Coast at Glenview Golf Course this morning to cover the upcoming Golf Programs Australia Incorporated and PGA of Australia Pro Am Tournament. This will be a ground-breaking event for inclusivity as GPAI participants with intellectual disabilities, in a world-first, will take on roles organising and running a golf tournament.

Bailey, who will be distributing welcome packs to golfers, was among the people interviewed by 7. Special thanks to local Glenview Pro Wade for joining us for the media event. You can catch the story on tonight's news.

A group of wonderful sponsors such as Holey Moley Maroochydore, Project Urban, Golf World Kawana, 4CP Promotional Products, Little Bake House, Loanright, Salt 106.5 and Rounda have come on board so far. There's plenty of time before the December tournament for more businesses and organisations to add their support.
