In the spirit of NAIDOC Week and getting ready for the Ball, I decided to design my own dress.
This was completely out of my comfort zone, but I thought, why not create something unique, tailored, and deeply connected to who I am as a proud Aboriginal woman!
What made it even more powerful was having one of my daughters by my side. As we sat together thinking of different designs, we yarned about our culture, our ancestors, and the strong line of women we come from. Each idea carried meaning, representing our stories, our resilience, and our unbreakable connection to Country.
Moments like these are everything. They remind me of the responsibility we carry to empower the next generation to walk strong in their identity, to be proud of where they come from, and to know that their culture is their strength.
Always proud to walk this journey grounded in culture, love, and the strength of my people 🖤💛❤️
