India’s Supreme Court has changed its mind on stray dogs after huge protests. Earlier, the court said all strays in Delhi and nearby cities should be locked up in shelters. Now the new order is:

✅ Dogs must be vaccinated and sterilised before being released back.
🚫 Dogs that are sick with rabies or very aggressive will stay in shelters.
🍲 Feeding dogs in public places is banned—only special feeding spots will be allowed.
🏠 Animal lovers can adopt strays through the city council, but adopted dogs cannot be put back on the street.
📜 The court also said it will soon create a national policy on stray dogs.

Animal groups are happy with this new decision, saying it’s kinder to the dogs—but they also want clear rules on what counts as an “aggressive” dog.
