2023: New city, new tunes, new direction.

After 3 unbelievable years in Wellington, I’m sad to announce that I’m moving on and departing this beautiful city. So many firsts here, first gigs, first festivals, launching the scenic sessions brand, and just a whole lot of new found fun. A massive thank you to everyone who played a part in giving me the opportunities I had in Wellington.

And so where am I going you say? I’ve already left! Landed in Sydney a few weeks ago, and am recalibrating my senses to this new environment.

And in doing so, I’m keen to take the french flavour in a different direction.

Last year, I found myself not uploading to this account that much, out of nervousness or something I felt holding me back… but I’m keen to change that.

I’ve dived head first into producing this year, starting the Liveschool production course, and I’m SO keen to share what I’ve been working on.

So i'll be posting more regularly with complete and incomplete tunes, and little tid bits as I embark on this new journey.

Really keen to hear everyones’ feedback, and grow the french flavour brand here in Sydney!

THE SCENIC SESSION IS ON! ☀️

Here’s some cheeky highlights from the past few months, taking the scenic sesh to new heights (literally) as we continue to explore Welly’s beautiful landscape and bring some of these scenic locations to life.

It’s honestly such a delight to look back on some of these moments and just smile - making memories that are etched into my brain for eternity.

If ya haven’t already, go check out the scenic sessions insta page, we’ve got planning for the next one already underway.

But I wanted to also shed some light on french flavour!

Unfortunately the ff page has been a little quiet. Non intentionally, but it seems that I have to continually balance where best to put my energy, and at the moment - that certainly is the scenic sesh.

For me, I get so much happiness in being able to bring something to life with your ride or die homies. And with the scenic sesh, I’m so delighted to say that we have such an amazing crew of people getting behind every single one.

So tuck in! You may not hear too much from the ff page too often - but you can be sure as hell you’ll be getting pelted with event invites from the scenic sesh page if you head on over there.

2021 - Done and dusted! 😱
My goly, what a year it has been!

It was only back in February that french flavour was started, with some thoughts that hey maybe this is something people may get behind!

But now, 10 months later, what started out as some hopes and dreams has become a core part of my life that I am proud to promote and share with everyone around me - playing and hosting gigs, dabbling into live-streaming and to top it all off, starting the amazing scenic sessions alongside some extremely talented human beings!

Here are a couple of highlights from what a magnificent first year it has been for all things french flavour - and reflecting on the year’s content - all I can do is smile and be eternally grateful.

Honestly, I couldn’t be more thankful for such a wild year, and to all the people who have helped me along the way. ❤️

Going into 2022 - there’s many exciting avenues to explore. scenic sessions is absolutely popping off - and I’ve been sitting on some french flavour original tunes which I cannot wait to release early next year - just in time for Rave Season!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all of you beautiful people, I cannot wait to see you all front left of the mosh over New Years, and deep into 2022.

My GOODNESS! 😱
How times change so quickly!
One day you’re surrounded by hundreds deep in a rave, next you're locked down 🔒

With this sudden lockdown and a bit more time up the sleeve, I thought I would share some reflections upon the past month. I feel like I haven’t even given any updates of what happened in July, and my goodness she was busy!

And so take us back two and a half weeks ago - we were handed the keys to Love Not Lost, and absolutely filled the place!

That night was certainly a milestone - managed to fly in everyone to Wellington for a ticketed gig and we hit capacity! Simply couldn’t be a better way to wrap up the month.

And a busy BUSY month it was! We had Witters, Midnight Marauders, FF&Friends & Lacuna - the busiest period of DJ’ing I’ve ever had! Not to mention attending a couple myself as well…

Honestly tho, it’s taken me a few weeks to recover. Certainly takes a toll all the late nights and now couldn’t be a better time to focus on regaining some french flavour hp so that we’re all ready to go for what the rest of the year has in store.

So these next couple months involve travelling back to FrenchFlavourHQ for a wee bit of rest as well as a couple of trips to the drawing board to focus on what the next steps look like.

Did somebody say Lockdown Livestream?? Maybe i’ll even release that song I promised from that BYO a couple months back? Lots of exciting things to come so stay locked!

Kia Kaha, stay safe and look out for one another during these unsettling times - fingers crossed we’re not in this for too long.

Well goodness me - we certainly do have a weekend on our hands!!! 💥
FF&Friends on Friday - and then the next stop - Lacuna on Saturday!!

Absolutely so so so stoked to be a part of Lacuna, and it has been such a privilege to see how much these lads have pumped so much hard effort and dedication into the Lacuna brand, to a point now where they have become a household name in the Wellington scene. Keep smashing it lads!

Going to be delving into the sounds of groovy house and disco alongside lifelong compatriot and mad selecta, Mr Corban Tupou - for a night full of fun!

And we’re back!! Back in action baby! 💥

How are we doin?! It’s a bit a wee minute since I’ve given all of you lovely people an update - I’ve been taking some time out to spend time with family, nail my craft and really hone the french flavour taste.

But I am here to report that all systems are go! 🟢

The next couple of months have some exciting things in store, including gigs, fresh mixes, recorded streams and my latest new venture - music production!

Funny story actually - me and a couple of mates gave ourselves a three month deadline to start getting into music production and produce ONE song! And we’re all presenting them in a couple of weeks time! At a BYO! Gonna be hilarious - but the start of something VERY exciting! 😮

So anyways, I’m excited about the next wee while of fun, and to get you hyped I thought I’d take you back to where we left off - Wellington Sports Cafe - Hybrid Minds After Party! The lovely Rose Lubransky took some unREAL snaps of me poppin’ OFF with the curls loose! Massive shoutout to her - they are so good!

Another weekend down, and another unreal night logged in the history books! 🔥
I had the absolute privilege of playing at the Hybrid Minds After Party on Sat, and BOY it was LOOSE! Take me back!

Between the sweet hours of 12am and 1am, I was able to bless the decks with some of that flavour that is french, and boy it popped OFF! Huge ups to all the ravers who rushed thru the rain from Hybrid Minds at Shed 6 all the way to Blair St to kick on! You guys rocked the house and showed Welly what proper DnB ravin’ is all about!

Had the absolute PLEASURE of being able to play at Outbound on Sat, and it was blimmin’ ridiculous!! 💥

Out in the middle of nowhere Karori, myself and the lovely Xest found ourselves shacked up in a tent, delivering some delicious dutty dessert in the form of Deep House alongside Slappin’ Drum & Bass. And it was fantastic! 😍

A massive shoutout to Peng Productions for hosting us. It was so epic to dive into the realms of Silent Disco as well as be a part of something so grand! So thank you.

I was able to meet so many great people and just soak in some of the amazing talent we have here in NZ, what a spectacle! ⚡️
