How do we improve the happiness for students and teachers in schools across Australia? The aim of this project is to connect schools around Australia into finding positive solutions to make their learning environment a happier one. This will be Australia’s first national schools online experience and television series that will identify some of the Happiest School in Australia. Tapping into Deakin
Universities’ groundbreaking research – The Well Being Index, this scale of happiness will be all about outcomes rather than comparisons across schools. The program will engage teachers, students and parents who will be encouraged to identify opportunities to increase the happiness in their schools. Students will be able to undertake experiments and share their findings with other schools, the whole time trying to improve their own happiness index. The team at Sydney University will be able to qualify their happiness across a range of indicators including:

- Community access
- Diversity
- Academic
- Caring for the environment
