FAREWELL ESMERALDA 🗞️🫶⛵️
The Chilean Navy’s four-masted training ship Esmeralda left Sydney Harbour yesterday, after a week-long visit marking 80 years of diplomatic relations between Chile and Australia.
Known as the “Dama Blanca”, the stunning tall ship is midway through its voyage, a 155 day journey aimed at showcasing Chile’s maritime tradition and promoting cultural ties across the Asia-Pacific.
Esmeralda is regarded as one of the world’s most famous tall ships, having covered 1.35 million nautical miles since her first voyage and berthing at more than 600 ports in 78 countries.
She is now en-route to Tahiti and Easter Island before returning to Valparaíso in October.
