I’ve been in another phase of decluttering recently!

The key to decluttering is REMOVING it from your home as soon as possible!

As soon as my daughter and I had sorted her cleared out items, I dropped a bag of clothes and toys to a friend (I asked first of course). I put other bags in my car to drop to various places on my way during the week, including craft items and texts to a local daycare.

Today my son and I took excess pet supplies to where one of our dogs Poppy was adopted from. We took her little brother Augie for a drive to say hello to the volunteers and gift the bag of items!

2 hours decluttering T***s’ room with her. Very proud of her ruthlessness - lots of paper recycled, rubbish binned and even soft toys culled to be donated. She gets very attached to her cuddlies so I’m immensely proud of her.

Now comes the hard part - decluttering hubby’s stuff with him over Easter! 😬🤣

Experiences over things.

I don’t go on holiday very often or to shows. But it was 20+ years since I last saw one of my all time fave bands play in my native New Zealand. So now I’m in Sydney I jumped at the chance to buy tix. And I like to get good seats for the few things I attend.

It’s my birthday treat for the week. I splurged and bought VIP tix to get fantastic seats and only realised this week after receiving an email that we also have VIP lounge access. That means a bar with a short queue, free yummy canapés and a selfie with

And I just won a Corrs t shirt from Richard for being the quickest to name the oldest Corr. I do know my Corrs trivia 😁

My point is, I’d rather enjoy some nice experiences and create memories than buy lots of items. Although I did buy a cap tonight because I wear caps every day walking my dogs 😃

I usually watch YouTube.

However, a video of Jimmy Kimmel re-enacting a scene from our home grown NZ soap opera Shortland St led me down a rabbit hole:
⬇️
- old clips of Shortland St from the 90s when I used to watch it “You’re not in Guatemala anymore Dr Ropata!”
⬇️
- demonstrating how to make my fave dessert - a traditional NZ pavlova and a painful hour watching try to hand whip egg whites into stiff peaks because she had no mixer 🌊 Big kudos to Alex - I would’ve told Marty to stuff it.
⬇️
- then I started to watch Virgin River and I’m 3/4 into Season 1 already and still haven’t folded the laundry 🤭

At least it stopped me from scrolling on FB and Instagram for a good few hours👌

And now I’m craving pav! 🤤

One of my key values is Connection and last month I joined the wonderful Digital Marketing Collective with 🌟

Already I’ve felt so welcomed and meeting other members in person at the DMC conference last weekend was brilliant.

And to top it off, I’ve been chosen as this months Member of the Month by Kate. She has kindly donated $100 to my charity of choice .

We have a dishwasher so this is just the big pots etc that don’t fit in said dishwasher. But total game changer for exhausted mama 😃
