This is part of what we do at CTI (TAFE)…
but I’ll be real with you—classroom learning still messes with my head.
I’ve always struggled to focus and retain info in that environment. Not sure if it’s the structure or just the vibe—but the minute I’m back in a classroom, my brain clocks out.
It’s wild… I can go to work, get stuck into a job, problem-solve, finish tasks no worries—but sit me down with a worksheet and I’m back feeling like that kid who couldn’t keep up.
Some days it’s frustrating as hell. The self-doubt creeps in. You start feeling disappointed in yourself, even when you know you’re putting in the work.
So I’m sharing this because I reckon I’m not the only one who feels like this.
If that’s you too—don’t beat yourself up. Ask for help. Own your mistakes. That’s literally what being an apprentice is about.
We’re all learning. It’s meant to be hard. Luckily, our tutor’s a legend and always jumps in when I get stuck—and big shoutout to the office crew too.
Keep showing up. Keep asking questions. Keep building.
It’s all part of the process—and it’ll be worth it in the end.
