WitcheR Summons the Wind-Bringing Witches in New Video “Szélhozó” — A Mystical Journey Into Eternity

Szombathely, Hungary – Hungarian Atmospheric Black Metal conjurers WitcheR once again stir the supernatural with the release of their stunning new video, “Szélhozó” (The Wind-Bringer) — premiered October 4, 2025. THE OLD DEAD TREE Release New Single “Feel Alive Again” From Upcoming EP London Sessions

For over two decades, The Old Dead Tree have remained a cornerstone of France’s dark progressive metal scene, uniting gothic melancholy with progressive intensity. Now, the band reveals “Feel Alive Again”, the first single from their forthcoming EP London Sessions, recorded at the legendary Abbey Road Studios.

London Sessions will be released on all platforms November 28.

Opening the EP, Feel Alive Again embodies both intimacy and grandeur. The song begins in a confessional tone before ascending into a soaring crescendo, where Manuel Munoz’s emotive vocals intertwine with layered guitars and a powerful rhythm section. At once airy and direct, it balances vulnerability and strength, drawing on the codes of stadium rock while remaining firmly rooted in the band’s dark progressive identity.

The track was produced and engineered by François-Maxime Boutault (Behemoth, Dagoba) and mastered by Tony Lindgren (Opeth, Paradise Lost).

To accompany the release, The Old Dead Tree present a “live in studio” video, capturing the band’s performance of the song in a studio setting. Directed, shot, and edited by long-time collaborator Julien Metternich, who has created many of the band’s previous music videos and photoshoots, the video places the focus squarely on the band’s chemistry and raw presence.

Spearheading the French dark prog metal scene for more than 20 years, THE OLD DEAD TREE have created a unique universe combining extreme music and dark rock-pop, sublimated by Manuel Munoz's exceptional and versatile vocals.

Just as the band had released their first EP, The Blossom, in 1999, drummer Frédéric Guillemot took his own life. The shock profoundly scarred the other three members of the band, and formed the basis of the concept for their debut album, The Nameless Disease.

Following its release in 2003 on Season Of Mist, the immediate success of this seminal album led the band to hit the road with PARADISE LOST, OPETH and KATATONIA, introducing their music to metalheads across Europe.

Two critically acclaimed albums followed, The Perpetual Motion (2005) and The Water Fields (2007), making THE OLD DEAD TREE a pillar of the French metal scene and a reference point for progressive metal in Europe.

By the end of 2008, just as work had begun on a fourth album, the wear and tear of the necessary personal investment proved too much for some of the band to bear. THE OLD DEAD TREE officially split up in 2009.

Over the following years, the musicians moved apart geographically and became involved in other musical projects (PENUMBRA, ARKAN, OMMATIDIA, LUX INCERTA...), but their solid friendship never wavered.

In 2013, THE OLD DEAD TREE briefly reunited to celebrate the 10th anniversary of their album The Nameless Disease with a mini European tour that included stops at HELLFEST and MOTOCULTOR.

A few years later, following the Covid 19 crisis and the general questioning that it provoked, the members of the band started considering to reunite for good. After several months of doubt and discussion, the decision is finally taken to write and record a new song.

In the spring of 2023, the popularity of the new single Terrified and the band's high-profile appearance at HELLFEST paved the way for THE OLD DEAD TREE's long-lasting comeback.

By the beginning of 2024, while composing its first album in 17 years, THE OLD DEAD TREE is offered the opportunity to record an EP at the world's most prestigious music studio: the legendary Abbey Road Studios in London (THE BEATLES, PINK FLOYD, U2, RADIOHEAD…). Right after this unique experience, the band quickly dived back into the writing and recording processes for the album Second Thoughts which was released by the end of 2024.

In the spring 2025, as THE OLD DEAD TREE toured France with KLONE and achieved the production of the 4 tracks recorded in Abbey Road Studios to give birth to the EP London Sessions.

Portuguese Prog Metal Act RADIANT THOUGHT feat. Baard Kolstad (LEPROUS) Drops Single & Video “Radiance” Off Upcoming Album “Transcendence”!

The progressive metal act RADIANT THOUGHT has released the new single Radiance, taken from the band’s debut album Transcendence, slated for release on November 7th.

Radiance demonstrates what prog metal should be like according to the Portuguese band, with songs that don't get lost in technical lengths but which, in less than 4 minutes, manage to be interesting and fascinating. The song is based on a 6/8 time signature, which makes it concise but also highlights not only the syncopated guitar, but also the drumming of Leprous' Baard Kolstad, who guest-stars on all the album's tracks. Last but not least, Miguel Pinto's vocals, which, in the vein of Tool's Maynard Keenan, are expressive and soothing.

About:
RADIANT THOUGHT is a musical project formed in 2011 by Valter Abreu. It started as a result of a casual collaboration with composer Stefan Sjöberg, creating video game soundtrack covers and other arrangements. This partnership later evolved into a creative outlet for original music, hugely influenced by artists such as Nine Inch Nails, Tool, and Porcupine Tree.

The first track, “Transcending,” marked the beginning of the duo’s journey, but the project went through many transformations over the years. After working on a handful of tracks, Valter and Stefan explored different directions, including shifting from instrumental songs to incorporating vocals, while also inviting other musicians to contribute.

In 2015, RADIANT THOUGHT took an extended hiatus as both members pursued separate creative paths. Valter embarked on his experimental solo project, SÍLENÍ, releasing a debut album in 2016 and starting his career as a sound designer for video games. Stefan, meanwhile, immersed himself in collaborations with other projects, honing his craft as a composer and musician. Although the duo lost touch during this period, their collaboration remained an integral part of the band’s foundation.

By late 2019, Valter felt the call to revisit RADIANT THOUGHT, approaching it with a fresh perspective as a solo endeavor. He began reworking most of the material from the ground up, creating a new body of work while honoring the project’s original vision.

In 2020, during the global COVID-19 pandemic, the album’s demos were completed, and Valter brought in Baard Kolstad (Leprous) to record drums. Over the next two years, Miguel Pinto joined to record vocals, and by the end of 2023 Valter finalized the remaining parts, including guitars, bass, and synths. The album was mixed in early 2024 by João Brandão at ARDA Recorders in Porto, Portugal, and mastered by Erik Peabody at Viking Guitar Productions in New York in August of the same year.

During the mixing phase, Valter reconnected with Stefan, who offered valuable suggestions and expressed enthusiasm for how the album was shaping up. Their shared history and creative beginnings continued to be an important key to RADIANT THOUGHT’s sound.

Australian Heavy Metal Band Wicked Smile announce their forthcoming sophomore album ‘When Night Falls’ and release the title track ‘When Night Falls’ featuring an official music video. This is the follow up to the band’s highly acclaimed debut album ‘Wait For The Night’ (2021).

The new single is an up-tempo track which again showcases the mega voice of Danny Cecati (ex Pegazus & Eyefear) on lead vocals. Guitarist Stevie goes onto add, “our new album is the natural progression for us. We wear our influences on our sleeves and the new album is no different. If you’re a fan of Dio, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Savatage, Dokken, Icon & Skid Row, I think you’ll like what we’ve done on our new album. Following the early Japanese exclusive release, When Night Falls will be released Worldwide on CD & vinyl, February 6th 2026 via No Dust Records in Europe (Including UK) + North America and released independently in Australia and the rest of the world. Wicked Smile will launch their new album with a tour of Japan in November 2025 with dates in Osaka, Nagoya & Tokyo. A tour of Europe will follow in 2026.

Wicked Smile are all about bringing back fist pumping, melodic heavy metal to the forefront. They released one of the albums of the year in 2021; a collection of ten ‘killer songs’, produced by Paul Laine (The Defiants/ex Danger Danger) and mastered by Bruno Ravel (The Defiants/Danger Danger).

Age of Emergence marked their 10th anniversary in 2025, a decade after first hitting the stage in Maitland, NSW. Formed in 2013 in the Hunter Valley by Dean Holmes, Allan Hofer (RIP), and Matt Neilson, the band has evolved through lineup changes and relentless dedication to their craft. The blistering, groove led anthem is tackling toxic friendships that leave a lasting scar. The struggles with pain of self-worth can be heard in the visceral delivery from vocalist Fabian Jochum throughout the song. THE NARRATOR were founded in 2017 in the Ruhr area of Germany and have been captivating audiences with their energetic songwriting and electrifying live performances from the very beginning. After successful tours and festival appearances, THE NARRATOR steadily made a name for themselves in the global metalcore scene.

Rottendom Unleashes Debut Black Metal Assault “Through Mysticism and War”

Emerging from the shadows of the underground, Rottendom is here to deliver a raw, uncompromising brand of Black Metal with their debut album, Through Mysticism and War , dropping October 3, 2025. The project marks the reunion of Dreathus and Von Eckhardt , founding members of the melodic and symphonic Black Metal band Xaemora, after a decade apart.

Rottendom’s sound strips away the symphonic layers of their past, returning to the blackened essence of the genre while subtly weaving in elements of Thrash and Death Metal. Thematically, the album plunges listeners into dystopian visions of nuclear annihilation, apocalyptic landscapes, and humanity’s self-inflicted demise—fueled by Dreathus and Von Eckhardt’s lifelong fascination with disaster, sci-fi, and horror cinema.

“Being a new band, we had zero obligations. We wrote on our own terms, for ourselves, with no eyes on the past,” said Dreathus. “This is our pure, unfiltered take on Black Metal, a sound both familiar and unapologetically ours.”
