PET OF THE WEEK 😻

🐱 Meet Gus, a big and friendly ginger and white cat with a personality as charming as his looks. Gus is a lovable cat who enjoys the simple pleasures in life—like a gentle pat, a cozy nook to curl up in, and mealtime. He thrives on the balance of independence and affection and is cheeky, confident, and playful.

🐾 Gus would do well in any household, whether it be a busy family, a single person, or a home with other pets. He's great with other adult cats, and while he's friendly with kittens, his energy could be a bit overwhelming for the little ones. Gus is confident around dogs, making him a good choice for a multi-pet household.

☎️ Gus is eagerly waiting to meet his new family. Contact the Team at the Animal Shelter on 4677 1100.

💲 Adoption fee is $225.50

Edit. This second one has a lot more in it. A chance of hail and heavy rain.

Today's predicted storm has arrived. Not much to worry about at the moment, just a few small cells. Another bigger set of storm cells are following it. It will be interesting to see if they grow or fizzle out.

Open Day at The Robin Davies Wollondilly Community Nursery on Saturday 1 February 2025.

🌱 The Robin Davies Wollondilly Community Nursery is having an Open Day on Saturday 1 February 2025. We’ll be open from 8am-12pm. This is a great opportunity for residents who can’t make it to our usual opening hours during the week to grab some plants.

🐦 We have lots of Wollondilly native plant species to choose from that are wildlife magnets, like this dusky coral pea (kennedia rubicunda) pictured which is a local vine with beautiful red flowers which this eastern spinebill is feeding on.

🆓 Wollondilly residents are entitled to 5 free Wollondilly native plants a quarter from our nursery. Any residents doing environmental restoration work like tree planting and land revegetation can have more - we currently have a large variety of species that can help with erosion control and creek bank stabilisation like Mat Rush (Lomandra longifolia) and Blue Box (Eucalyptus baueriana).

💁 Pop in and have a chat with our friendly staff who can help pick the right plants for you. The nursery is located on Wonga Rd Picton behind the animal shelter and all the plants available are grown by our amazing volunteers.

📅 Put it in your calendar – we would love to see you there!
