So Shredfest Brisbane 2026
It's going to be a huge event.
I asked Mat Maurer from Sydney Legends Mortal Sin how he felt about next years Shredfest?

Mat: Looking forward to tearing up the stage at Shredfest in Brisbane in May.
What an unbelievable line up of Australian Metal talent. We are truly honoured to be headlining what will no doubt be a historic occasion at the Mansfield Tavern. It may have been 15 years since we last toured, but I guarantee an awesome show from the sinners!

Good Things 2025 Brisbane

What an amazing day. The festival layout was awesome as always.
This year was helped along with the exhibition pass being open making access to stage 4/5 and the large bar area even easier.
The amenities were excellent, toilets easy to get to, food carts and smaller bars in all the right places. Speaking of accessible the special viewing platform for special needs people along with sign language on the big screens for the hearing impaired is a huge nod to how progressive the planning is behind this modern festival.
The bands were amazing! Hard to capture it all but the day was filled with bands getting the festival started. Scream Quern was cool and show cased their unique style. Gwar was a sight to behold, seeing the security in rain ponchos for the fake blood shenanigans was crazy. The fake blood was extreme in its quantity and watching red stained fans coming over the rail and running back into the mosh was awesome!
Machine Head absolutely nailed it! The Brisbane crowd was absolutely cutting sick to Rob abd company and the final song Davidian was epic! The crowd went off! So proud of you Brisbane! Garbage saw us waiting to see what Shirley would say about the beach balls but she made a joke about herself, showed a little humour and got on with the show.
Dead Poet Society were unreal over on stage 5 and then it was time for the mighty TOOL.
They never disappoint and the setlist was wicked.
To be amongst so many fans and to be surrounded by hundreds of other Tool fans singing and vibing to their brilliant music was exceptional.
Thanks so much to our dear friends at Destroy All Lines, seeing some of the behind th we scenes we appreciate just how much blood sweat and tears goes into bringing a festival of this magnitude to life.
Such great planning and such great ex*****on.
All I can say is Do it again Good Things!
Can't wait for next year.

Dead Poet Society (DPS) played the Triffid last night, supported by Raging Hormones & Bad Nerves. Firstly, I want to thank Destroy All Lines for exposing DPS to an Australian crowd; they were truly one of the standouts for the lineup at Good Things 2025. However, their placement in the lineup at stage 5 meant some people had to make a tough decision. Those who decided not to miss out on their sideshow yesterday had a night to remember. Sometimes you are lucky enough to see an amazing band on their way up in a small and intimate venue, as we all were last night. I am sure it will be a story told for years to come, as we were there for DPS first Australian Tour. These seasoned performers brought it right from the first song and delivered till the very end.
Their energetic, eclectic performance was embraced by the audience, who were there to truly enjoy the night. DPS is an eclectic mix of blues, rhythmic guitar, driving bass, angelic vocals that have a decent amount of grit and traction, being supported by a jazz-based drummer that never lets the beat get boring.
The crowd was energetic and carried the chorus through many songs. Anyone who was not a DPS fan beforehand definitely left as one. To be able to experience a band of this calibre at such an intimate venue was truly something to be grateful for, and we just hope that DPS come and visit us again soon. If you haven’t checked them out, we encourage you to have a listen.
