With ANZAC Day approaching, we take a moment to pause, reflect, and remember the courage and sacrifice of those who served.
It’s also a time to come together to share kindness, connection, and love with those around us, whether that’s family, friends, neighbours, or someone who may need a little extra support.
A simple tradition many of us hold close is baking ANZAC biscuits and sharing them with others.
Here’s a classic recipe to make at home:
ANZAC Biscuits
• 1 cup rolled oats
• 1 cup plain flour
• 1 cup sugar
• ¾ cup desiccated coconut
• 125g butter
• 2 tbsp golden syrup
• ½ tsp baking soda
• 2 tbsp boiling water
1. Preheat oven to 160°C.
2. Mix oats, flour, sugar, and coconut in a bowl.
3. Melt butter and golden syrup together. Stir in baking soda mixed with boiling water.
4. Combine wet and dry ingredients.
5. Roll into small balls, place on a lined tray, and flatten slightly.
6. Bake for 10–15 minutes until golden.
However you choose to spend the day, we encourage everyone to take a moment to reflect, connect, and share a little kindness.
Lest we forget.
