Charlotte is one of the friendly faces you’ll meet when you walk through the doors of the Hope Horizons Cancer Wellness Centre, and in this episode she explains why she put her hand up to volunteer and why she keeps coming back.

From welcoming clients and answering questions, to being a calm presence during life’s toughest moments, Charlotte offers a genuine insight into the heart of Hope Horizons. We explore how the centre supports people beyond medical treatment, the importance of community-funded care, and how everyday people can make a real difference through time, skills or financial support.

A powerful reminder of what happens when a community shows up for its own.

This episode of Talkin’ Toowoomba is now live, I sit down with Corey Pendlebury from Men's Health Physiotherapy Toowoomba to explore the often-overlooked challenges men face during and after prostate cancer treatment. Corey breaks down the vital role physiotherapy plays before and after surgery or radiation, helping men manage bladder control, pelvic floor function, sexual recovery, and overall wellbeing.
We also discuss why early preparation matters, how telehealth is helping regional blokes access specialised care, and the importance of a strong support network, from urologists and specialist nurses through to allied health professionals. Corey offers practical, evidence-based guidance on pelvic floor exercises, recovery timelines, and the emotional and social impacts that come with prostate cancer.
This episode shines a light on holistic care, informed decision-making, and the importance of having real conversations about men’s health.
Episode sponsor Men's Health Physiotherapy Toowoomba, proudly supporting men across our region with expert pelvic health and post-treatment rehabilitation.
Remember 70% of all podcast donations go directly to Hope Horizons Inc to support local families living with cancer. You’ll find the donation link below.

✨ Looking for a Christmas gift that gives hope? ✨

Emma from is on a beautiful mission — painting 1,000 paper cranes, each one a symbol of hope, peace, and strength.

It’s heartbreaking to see what Mark and Chloe, two inspiring NDIS participants, are going through.

Their much-loved car wash had to close because of ongoing black mould issues that their NDIS provider Community Access Care has battled for months, with a landlord unwilling to fix the problem or release them from a long-term lease.

This story highlights the real-life struggles faced by people with disabilities and the dedicated organisations who support them.

Talkin Toowoomba is sharing their story to shine a light on what’s happening and the need for fair treatment for all. 💙
