Happy World Wildlife Day!!

Happy World Wildlife Day everyone! Today, we celebrate the incredible diversity of wildlife that surrounds us, including Australia's iconic wombats!

Wombats play an essential role in our ecosystem, helping to maintain the health and balance of our native bushland.

By grazing and burrowing, they help to keep grasslands healthy and prevent soil erosion. Their burrows also provide refuge for a range of other species, including wallabies, echidnas, and even birds.

Unfortunately, wombats face a range of threats, including habitat loss, road accidents, and disease. That's why it's so important that we work together to protect these amazing creatures and their habitat.

So on this World Wildlife Day, let's all take a moment to appreciate the wonder and importance of wombats, and do what we can to ensure their future survival. Together, we can help to safeguard these beloved animals for generations to come!

15,000+ PEOPLE CAME to the "Biggest Dress-Up Party in NSW" on Saturday for Lithgow Halloween on Main Street 2022, with more bands and entertainment than in the past, supported by funding from Federal, State and Local Government, a safe and enjoyable family friendly event.

I had the pleasure of working with Robbie, Simon and the Seven Valley's team (and Mayor Maree) and our fantastic MC Sean to keep the Cook St Plaza stage buzzing all afternoon and well into the evening with so many fun family friendly events, while The Joker (Aka Sam Bucca) showed us why he is one of Lithgow's most respected local music legends both on and off the stage, keeping West Side Stage Pumping with awesome local bands (despite an unfortunate power generator failure and some quick action to keep the show rolling!).

This event was a massive undertaking behind the scenes for several years - the bulk of which was instigated and handled by our master of tourism and live music event management Robbie Park, who most people would rarely see or hear of because he does his job too well! For Robbie it's all about the success of the event and the safety and enjoyment of everyone on the stage, behind the scenes and in the audience. Hats off to you Robbie, job well done!
