Tricky little TR-2 mod a la JHS and Wampler.
A handful of Google image searches and helpful forum-based literature got me through this project relatively unscathed. And it's all been documented, so I can replicate it to my heart's desire.

Additional footswitch changes between standard speeds (green LED), and uncomfortably fast (red LED).
K**b on the right side goes from unity gain to a meaty boost of around 15dB.

The TS10 is printed in a magical matte coating that only appears when you learn a John Mayer solo. It's wild what Tayda stocks these days.

The PCB for the Buzzter is WILD.
Had this in for repair recently. Despite it being a solid build, this poor thing got beat up pretty bad.
Fixed a broken trace (don't ask me how that happened), a malfunctioning footswitch, and a potentiometer that crumbled under hand like a delicate sponge cake.

Let this be a reminder that "built like a tank" is a phrase that gets thrown around more than it should.
Sad to see a cool design like this under the weather, but very pleased to say I was able to nurture it back to health.

I'm calling it here and now, this is the ultimate clean boost. A real shame Josh Scott & co only made 817 of these suckers, then they inevitably sold out in minutes.
For those outside of the know, the JHS Solo Boost is a switchable op-amp/JFET boost with miles of headroom and the perfect amount of gain. I had one on my pedalboard for a hot minute, but sold it off when things got a little quieter on the music front.

So I present to you the exact same circuit in a regular pedal format. Sure, it doesn't have a cute little red cup on it's face, or a form factor the size of a German sausage, but it can do all the same tricks.

Send me a message if you'd like to take it home.

I recently discovered a new favourite drive pedal, to play and to build. The (unfortunately named) Fulltone OCD Germanium.
I'd hazard a guess that the all-black aesthetic makes it sound at least 100% better. The first 100% is almost certainly attributed to the fancy germanium diodes. Sound on for a great example of the circuit in action.

Captured on old faithful Canon 6D with a Canon 85mm f/1.8 USM lens. The theme of this one is that old tech is still good tech if you cook it right.

This pedal is looking for it's forever home. Message me if you'd like to start the adoption process.

EQD Zap Machine - single channel version with a fancy NOS Soviet transistor.
Goes brrrr, but gooder and differenter than any of the pedals you already own. Link about the place, if you're interested.

Still in the pedal modifying game.
Real hard to find these ones, glad I can still come across them every now and then.

Upgrade features a bunch of NE5532 op amps, full electrolytic capacitor replacement, orange LED, and a reconfiguration of the EQ sliders.
Takes up to 18v, and has a brand new grommet, slider tips, and a plain metal back plate.

The original sounds great, but this sounds better. Especially if you're running a setup with a few stacked gain pedals.

On the Bigcartel, link in bio.

Here's a neat analog bit crusher I whipped up a little while ago. It's a original in a 1590B (EHX Nano series) sized enclosure.
It sounds like the ugly cousin of a fuzz. Angry and hard to tame, but a hell of a secret weapon for the chaotic moments in a live set or that special something in a studio session.
$130 shipped, DM if ya want it.

It's the kind of song that makes me wish I could live inside it all day, every day.
Infectious, intoxicating, truly a daydream of a song. We all need more Duck Lake in our lives.

Custom triple for .guitarist
Benson Preamp (with added high gain toggle) into Klon KTR into a custom high gain Rangemaster Treble Booster.
Lots of time fiddling to stop it from squealing due to the mountains of gain this thing has.
A couple PedalPCB builds and a custom veroboard sitting very snug inside a 1590XX enclosure.
Low gain overdrive into medium gain distortion into high gain fuzz, seems logical and sounds excellent.
