If you haven’t got one yet, go get yourself a hype man.
Or a hype girl, a hype person, just someone who sends you flippin’ excellent supportive messages like this.
My hype man is my partner – Matt.
In 2019 I started a side hustle, that quickly turned into a business, which quickly turned into * a lot* of overwhelm from working a full-time job plus the stress of running a business.
Over the space of the next 2 years, I slowly dropped back from 5 days of full-time paid work, to 4 days to 3 days, till Matt looked at me one day and said “ it’s time”.
Part petrified and part pumped, I took the plunge and have now been happily self-employed for 18 months.
18 months ! I have successfully managed to run a business for 912 days!!
That business has since morphed into another business, Social Road which combines my love of social media and real estate.
Some days run seamlessly, some days are filled with self-doubt.
Then some days, all you need is your hype man to send you a message like this and then *kaboom*, your confidence is sky high and you're back in the room
* Shared with permission from Matt
* I blurted out a little bit at the end, which is our address.
Also if you want a definition of a hype man..
A hype man, in hip hop music and rapping, is a backup rapper and/or singer who supports the primary rappers with exclamations and interjections and who attempts to increase the audience's excitement with call-and-response chants.
