Suspected human remains have been found in the search for abducted grandfather Chris Baghsarian.

The suspected remains were found near a golf club in Pitt Town in Sydney's north-west.

Police believe the 85-year-old was kidnapped in a case of mistaken identity.

Those responsible remain on the run.

Accused Bondi terrorist Naveed Akram has given brief remarks to a Sydney court today on 59 charges, including murder and terrorism offences.

The 24-year-old appeared via video link from prison to Downing Centre Local Court this morning.

"Did you just hear what I just said?" Deputy Chief Magistrate Sharon Freund asked the accused.

"Yeah," Akram replied.

Akram was then told his solicitor was going to give him a call.

"Yep," is all the accused terrorist replied.

Akram is accused of carrying out a terror attack on December 14 with his father, when 15 people were killed and 40 injured during Hannukah celebrations at Bondi Beach.

He will return to court on April 9.

Police have released an update in the investigation into the man accused of pouring hot coffee on an infant at Stones Corner in Brisbane in August 2024.

Newly released footage shows officers from the Queensland Police Service (QPS) and the Australian Federal Police (AFP) supporting a delegation of Chinese authorities in Brisbane as part of ongoing inquiries.

Since the alleged offender left Australia, the AFP says it has been working closely with international partners in an effort to bring him to justice.

Authorities have confirmed the man is believed to be in China.

The AFP is now working jointly with Chinese authorities to determine the appropriate next steps.

Under Chinese law, China has extraterritorial jurisdiction to prosecute its citizens for offences allegedly committed outside the country.

Queensland Premier David Crisafulli spoke at a vigil held at Brisbane City Town Hall, paying tribute to the victims of the Bondi massacre. He reflected on the shock and heartbreak of the attack and emphasised the importance of unity in the face of violence and hatred.

The Premier also reaffirmed the Queensland government’s commitment to stamping out and calling out extremism in all its forms, pledging to work with law enforcement and community leaders to keep people safe and to confront ideologies that fuel violence.
