Hyperfocus…. It's a blessing and a curse.

Nonetheless, it's finally happening!

I've been a little (Okay, a lot) obsessed with getting South Coast Women off the ground, and the site is officially LIVE at SCWOMEN.AU!

This is the first thing I've built for myself in ages that I actually think is pretty damn cool. I am both happy and I feel a little sick 🤢

I’ve had a chat with myself and told myself I need to stop all the late nights and my biscuit and cereal diet before I burn out!

I often have people reach out about site speed with questions like, "How can I make my site faster?" It's rarely a quick fix.

Since 2018, I've loved speed optimisation. I remember when my obsession started, I spent a month breaking my test sites over and over.

My dedication to site speed has remained strong.

I still enjoy the process of fine-tuning for every extra point in Google Lighthouse, and especially that rewarding celebration party popper thingy that Google gives you when you get "all green" scores of 100 across the board 🎉.

Speed optimisation is a core element of my website-building process.
I specialise in the lightweight Kadence theme and build with factors like DOM size in mind.

I also have preferred hosting solutions and configurations that I have refined repeatedly over the years to ensure optimal performance.

Yes, my websites are fast, often consistently faster than most.

✨ Awesome Website Alert! ✨

In February, I had the pleasure of rebuilding the website for Kemps Martial Arts.
Side note: Where has this year gone?

Kemps is a fantastic family-focused gym in South Nowra.
I am grateful that they put their faith in me to create them a new digital home.

I did a complete refresh with a new branding, design, site structure, pages and I also had a go at redoing all their content with the help of my friend Gemini.

As a life long gym person who used to do Muay Thai, I found doing the content quite easy to do as I am the target demographic so I thought about what I wanted in a gym website.

I did my first case study in years and have posted it on my website.

It was really fun spending some time with Annette, who came to me for some 1:1 Kadence training.
I love training graphic designers and web designers as my approach to the web is more mathematical and theirs is visual, so together we can do epic things.

I thought it was about time I did some work on my own website

I tweaked my colour palette, so it's a little stronger, like me 💪 hahaha.

I also added some cool filters to my blogs with a couple of new categories, including Case Studies, and I posted my first one (more on that later).

BTW I have started blogging again. I wrote a post on responsive design and Clamp, so if you want to learn why you should ditch the pixel, go take a read!

I did lots of other stuff, but that's all I can think of for now (old lady brain, haha).
