Ask David Benedek (David Benedek) what a decade of BDK Parfums has taught him, and the answer circles back to his grandmother, whose love for perfume (and layering before it was even a thing) instilled the same passion in him.

To mark the milestone, he’s turned to perfumer Jordi Fernandez for Collection Studio, three scents that translate fabric into fragrance. Silk becomes orris and tonka bean in Stellar Silk, leather turns sharp with pineapple and saffron in Oud Paradisio, and sequins shimmer through Silver Ceremony’s ginger, amber and patchouli.

Australian expats operating out of London will have a taste of home arriving soon as suiting brand, M.J. Bale (M.J. Bale) sets to open its first store.

Founder Matt Jensen confirmed that the brand he founded in 2009 will open its first international store at 48-50 Jermyn Street, arguably one of London’s most famous destinations for menswear and . The move marks the first store outside Australia after more than eighty at home.

It looks and share a fondness for the same footwear.

The two biggest style icons of the moment have been spotted wearing the same sneaker on separate occasions. Low-cut with a streamlined silhouette, the sneaker sits curiously closer to a loafer than it does to a traditional sneaker. And, it also manages to look good with everything. From shorts to denim.

Growing up in Mount Eliza on Victoria’s Mornington Peninsula, Christopher Chung (Christopher Chung) was one of only four kids of East Asian descent in a school of 2,000-odd. When he looked to the screen for inspiration, he didn’t see himself reflected there either.

Now 38, Chung has spent the past five years proving how much that’s changed. There was the breakout as the socially awkward Roddy Ho in ‘Slow Horses’, alongside Gary Oldman and Kristin Scott Thomas, which earned him a BAFTA nomination and an invitation to the Emmys with the show’s cast. Then came a leading role even he struggled to believe: heartthrob Harry Beecham in Netflix’s remake of ‘My Brilliant Career’, a part reimagined for an East Asian actor for the first time.

“I spent a lot of time trying to see my reflection on screen in this country when I was growing up,” he says. “Sometimes it takes someone else to open the door for you to realise what’s possible for your career.”
