The Paris Olympics start in July, making this a perfect time to tap into themes of sport and teamwork to get kids reading and writing. Kristin Darell runs interactive and entertaining author talks and creative writing workshops based on her ‘Football Fever’ series, featuring Matildas and Socceroos stars. She is available to speak with all primary school aged children. She is also able to tailor non-fiction sessions for high school students.

Hear first hand from the granddaughter of the last man to leave the hills of Anzac Cove in Gallipoli WW1. Last Man Out is the true story of an enduring friendship between an Englishman and an Indigenous soldier. A story of loyalty and bravery.

Much has been written about Gallipoli, yet not a lot focussed on the evacuation and barely anything about the rear guard of honour—those extraordinary soldiers asked to sacrifice their lives by remaining behind.

This talk includes a slide show of daily life and conditions for the Anzacs at Gallipoli, what those last days were like during the evacuation, a reading and question time.
