Samuel Logan Brengle and Shaw Clifton wrote many books on holiness and other helpful life and faith topics.Their keen minds and clarity of writing have inspired, encouraged, challenged and enlightened thousands of people.

I wonder what would be the main topics of discussion if they were to meet?

Oh to be able draw and paint magnificently. But as I can’t do either, perhaps, colouring in what an artist has drawn is the way to go.

Friday Focus

Stephen Poxon certainly knows how to write an engaging, meaningful, uplifting and thought-provoking daily devotional book.

He has a number of them published during the past few years. One of the characteristics of his books is that, while being true to the theme or words of the person he is featuring, he beautifully brings in practical perspective and gentle humour.

Oh and he loves soccer/football especially his beloved Hartlepool F.C. which is what his latest book is about.

It was a joy to meet Stephen some years ago when he was ministering in the editorial team of The Salvation Army UKI Territory.

His writing gift blesses us and I hope you enjoy checking out his books, many of which are pictured.

Oh I would love to be reporting on a conversation between The Salvation Army’s Co-Founder Catherine Booth and Colonel Janet Munn.

While I have never met Catherine I love her approach to life and her faith. I feel the same about Janet.

Would they discuss prayer, women in ministry, social justice, practical theology, family or other important areas?

Friday Focus

Danielle Strickland is a passionate advocate for Jesus, justice and people finding freedom, among many other things.

She is a podcaster, author and excellent, engaging speaker. After serving as a Salvation Army officer for many years she embarked on a wide ranging ministry across the word.

This week she has been the keynote speaker at The Salvation Army More Conference on the Gold Coast in Australia.

It was a privilege in the early years of Salvo Publishing to edit the book Just Imagine co-written by Danielle with Major Campbell Roberts.

I thank God for this energetic, enthusiastic, courageous disciple of Jesus. Some of her books are pictured.
