Josh hit it out of the park for a probationary set, with a variety of techniques including a tapered tang and a double edged grind.

Congratulations to Russell Toovey who just passed his assessment to become a Journeyman Smith with the society.

To earn this recognition, Russell travelled to Troy, Ohio, where he presented five finely crafted knives and a performance blade to a panel of ABS Master Smiths. His success is a testament to years of hard work, skill, and dedication – and the knives are nothing short of stunning.

Stewart's family advised us he passed away last Friday.

Stewart was a big supporter of the Guild. Over the years, he served a number of positions on the Guild's committee and was the Guild's Queensland state representative, while also being a well-known face at knife shows around the country.

To all the members who knew him, Stewart was an accomplished knifemaker and genuinly good bloke. He will be missed.

On behalf of all our members, we offer our deepest condolences to the Townsend family.
