Black Friday comes faster than most brands expect and if you start preparing in November, it’s already too late.

Every year we see the same thing: great products, strong offers, but poor deliverability. If your list isn’t clean or your flows aren’t ready, your emails might not even land where people can see them.

This account was already seeing solid results from email, with almost half of its revenue coming from it. When we looked closer, it was clear that the brand leaned heavily on campaigns, but flows were underdeveloped, and there was no consistency in sending.

Here’s what we did:

• Rebuilt all the core flows: welcome, checkout, winback, sunset.

• Added personalised post-purchase flows (after the 1st, 5th, and 15th orders) to keep customers engaged long-term.

• Added our signature abandoned cart flow (separate from checkout) and VIP.

• Set a clear, consistent campaign schedule with proper segmentation!!! and A/B testing.

The outcome in just one month:

▪️Total revenue up 18% (from $35.8k to $43.8k).
▪️Email revenue up $6k (from $16.7k to $22.6k).
▪️Flow revenue increased from $3.7k to $6.3k.

Black Friday strategies are not new. Analyse your November 2024, develop a schedule, make adjustments to the strategy based on learnings, look at margins, introduce new offers if they suit your business better, set up emails, timers, VIP early access and boom 💥 GO!

When I need to be productive, I literally step away from the laptop. I go into nature, spend a few hours by the ocean, or wander through the green. No phone (okay… maybe just to snap a photo). When I come back, I feel like I’ve gained about 300% more focus. And it never fails!

Motivation is another story. That’s where music comes in. The kind that makes you feel like you’re ready to step into battle (yes, I’ve got playlists for that). And of course, podcasts and events with amazing people! That gives me heaps of energy and fires me up to keep going.

When we first stepped into this account, email wasn’t performing as well as it could. Revenue from email sat at just over 22% of total sales, flows weren’t at their potential, campaigns were inconsistent, and the overall impact of email on the business was far lower than it should be.

We rebuilt everything from the ground up: all the core flows: welcome, checkout, winback, VIP, sunset, plus added new flows: subscriptions & abandoned cart. We brought in campaigns: consistent send days, proper segmentation!!! and A/B testing.

The results? In just one month:

▪️Email revenue doubled (from 22% to 45% of total sales).

▪️Flows jumped from $4.7k to $13.8k in revenue.

▪️Campaign revenue increased from $5.3k to $6.8k.

▪️Click rate went up from 0.9% to 1.48%

▪️Deliverability went from 70 to 87

The total email revenue for the month rose from $10.1k to $20.6k.

Nothing else changed: same products, same audience. The difference came entirely from how the email channel was built and managed.
