Primarily based in a home studio designed for mixing, mastering and production, with additional experience, skills and equipment for l

ocation music recording up to 24 tracks. They have been in operation since 2010 and are located in Mparntwe - Alice Springs, NT, Australia. With years of experience in the music and sound engineering industry, Jez has worked with world-class artists, including Geoffrey Gurrumul Yunupingu (at Avatar Studio, formerly Power Station NYC), Tom E Lewis, Toni Childs and Ross Hannaford (Daddy Cool) and more. Jez has worked with Chris Thompson (Silverchair, Nick Cave) and had music mixed or produced by Lez Karski (Boys Next Door, The Violets, Midnight Oil), Tony Cohen (Nick Cave) Chris Dickie (The Pogues, The Cure, Simply Red) and others.

George Ivens (Georgia Ivens) is a singer songwriter from rural South Australia and based in Mparntwe Alice Springs. She melds mood and atmospheres into deep spaces in her songs, drawing lines of emotion, stretching from southern oceans to the red desert sand.

Our Story

Left Of Elephant Sound acknowledges the Arrernte people as the traditional and prevailing custodians of the lands on which this small business in located.

Left Of Elephant Sound is run by Jeremy Conlon, a freelance sound recordist – engineer, musician, and composer, who has had over 25 years experience in many facets of the music industry.

Recent films completed as Sound Recordist have been ‘Yaripirri’s Journey’ (Songlines Project for PAW Media/Screen Australia/SBS/NITV) and ‘Bulunu Milkarri (Songlines Project for ARDS/Screen Australia/SBS/NITV)

Jeremy has worked on the ARIA award winning albums “Gurrumul” (additional recordings) and “Rrakala” (assistant engineer, New York City Avatar Studio) by Geoffrey Gurrumul Yunupingu (Skinnyfish Music), “Muyngarnbi – Walking With Spirits” (sound engineer) – featuring Tom E Lewis and Ross Hannaford (Daddy Cool), Nabarlek – ‘Manmoyi Radio” (sound engineer – Skinnyfish Music), ‘Tjamuku Ngurra’ – Tjintu Desert Band (CAAMA), and been privileged to recorded many traditional and contemporary songs from indigenous and non indigenous musicians throughout Australia.
