‼️ Spinning Film Trailer
Ngaanyatjarra Media joined the Warnpurru Culture Camp at Patjarr Community, where ninti minmya from Patjarr, Warakurna and Wanarn, assisted by Warnpurru Men and Women Rangers, took part in traditional “spinning” practices.
Spinning is a traditional cultural method used to create threads for decoration, adornment, tools and ceremonial items.
This special Culture Camp focused on revitalising this important tradition.

Stay tuned—the full film is coming soon!

Reflecting on a special day which saw the ladies came together to watch old Turlku Purtingkatja films from over a decade ago. As we work through our Archiving Project which includes the digitalisation of many incredible pieces of film, audio, photographs, etc, we look forward to making these immensely important media pieces easily accessible for Yarnangu across the Ngaanyatjarra Lands to watch from their own communities.

If one photo captured the day - it’s this gorgeous shot of Tjawina. Perfect Friday spent on country. More pics to come.❤...

Another busy week for our team.

🧶 • A wonderful Minyma Pampa activity session where the ladies tried out Macrame. A big shout out to our awesome local team for learning the skills to then teach on. Safe to say they turned out so lovely.

🎨 • A special project got underway in Wanarn. Karen Cooke alongside her granddaughters, and our brilliant co-workers, Savahanna and Pawuya. We look forward to coming together again.

🟠 • Clay! Minyma Pampa came together out in the afternoon sun trying out air-dry clay. How cool is Diane’s bird nest?!

Additionally, we loved having Duane Foster back in the studio, seeing and chatting with the incredible Warnpurru Rangers Team and continuing to work with cultural leaders across the Lands on exciting plans for 2025.

A few other pics from earlier in the month when the wonderful Steve and Kunmanara from Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development came out to Irrunytju to spend some time at our CRC.
Another shout out to our board, who amongst a visit and very busy week, still managed to come together (some in person, some on Zoom and some via phone) to successfully complete the first meeting for the 2025.
Our second Board Meeting is set for June 20th. 🗓️
