Rotary clubs have raised $2.5 million for prime land that will house people who attend Maitland Hospital to treat cancer and other health problems.
The money, raised from Maitland's business community, will be used to buy land at Metford.
The HealthStays project is planned on a site 750 metres from Maitland Hospital.
Trevor Lynch, Maitland HealthStays committee chair, said the $2.5 million was raised at a meeting with the business community at Maitland Town Hall.

The number of babies born before arriving at the hospital has tripled in parts of regional NSW this century, according to Australian Institute of Health and Welfare data.
This follows on from an estimated half of the state's maternity services closing in the past three decades.
Maternity Consumer Network founder Alecia Staines said services in NSW were following trends seen elsewhere, with regular bypasses in regional areas, leading to uncertainty and no continuity of care.

From the heady heights of $US430/tonne in the spring of 2022, thermal coal prices dropped below $US100/tonne last month before recovering slightly this month to be four dollars higher a tonne.
Commodity traders blame the price drop on a warmer-than-average northern hemisphere winter and an increase in supply.
The other impact from the fall in the coal price is the drop in state royalties revenue estimated at nearly half a billion dollars last year.
