"When Vietnam comes to Cambodia", shot at the Ta Prohm (Tomb Raider) temple with the Canon R5C (full specs and settings in the description).
Was a particularly difficult shot due to the dark temple and forest areas, and bright sun spots.
Oooh and this was not a model, just a lady walking along who I spotted, photographed and then approached to get her approval to use the shot.

‘When Vietnam comes to Cambodia”

The áo dài, a symbol of Vietnamese culture and femininity, has its origins based in the 18th century under the Nguyen dynasty, and inspired by both Chinese and Cham influences.

It is a long form fitting tunic with slits on both sides, paired with loose trousers, which is most often found worn at formal events like weddings, festivals, and on occasion in everyday life.

An áo dài is not often found often in Cambodia (where the female national outfit is the Sampot), let alone in the middle of the Ta Prohm temple (commonly referred to as the Tomb Radar due to its depiction in the film Tomb Radar in 2001) near the city of Siem Reap, Cambodia.

Sometimes as a media producer, you don't get to see how your work is utilised or compiled in the final product. So when you accidentally stumble across a media article that shows some of your work, it makes you feel all warm and fuzzy on the inside :)

A big congratulations to these two guys (Abdullah and Mohammed Haddara) and their team at Haddarco Construction in Melbourne.

They have been awarded the Excellence in Construction Award for Commercial Buildings, at the 2025 Master Builders Victoria Excellence in Construction Awards.

Pixelife was honoured to have assisted in capturing the ICOM-Primary School Project, and we are over the moon at the recognition Haddarco has received for their diligence, creativity and design.

Congratulations! :)

'Don’t get full on your own supply’

Located in Strung Treng is a road side market that is extremely busy. It is a bustling hub for fresh produce, fish, and various local goods. At daybreak, merchants sell a wide variety of items, including fish from the Mekong River, vegetables, and fruits. The market also offers food stalls with local delicacies, silk products, and more.

Stalls are scattered everywhere, and shoppers (including entire families) transverse by moped/scooters through the market, rarely getting off their bikes. Some market stalls are even defiantly setup in the middle of the street for easier drive through service.

Evan Sycamnias - Founder of Pixelife Photography & Videography

Evan Sycamnias who was first introduced to photography when he was only 8 years old. By age 9, he had made his own camera and was processing black and white prints in a small makeshift studio. By age 13, much to his exhilaration, he was bestowed the family’s Agfa Isola I, a medium format film camera (120mm) made in Germany (below) – which he still possess to this day.

For Evan, photography (and later videography) was a way to capture breath-taking moments and present them in a form that remained timeless, allowing others to experience events as though they had been there for themselves.

For more than 10 years Evan was a part of the exciting world of high speed off-road racing, where he spent a large portion of his time managing ‘Team MudRhino’ – a creative group with 15 members who produced more than 45 full length DVDs. These productions were sold globally, and earned the group several awards – including the prestigious CCDA ‘Media of the Year Award’ in 2008.

In 2016, his attention was turned to landscape photography, and he spent a large proportion of his time travelling the globe to remote locations including the Himalayas, India, China, Egypt, South and North America, and Singapore. Many of his images received awards and recognition, and some went on to be featured in magazines.
