Fresh off guiding Australia to a 3–0 Ashes series win over England, Cameron Munster has hinted that a Super League move could one day be on the cards. The 31-year-old Melbourne Storm playmaker, who was named Player of the Series and took home the inaugural Fulton–Reilly Medal, said the experience of touring the UK reignited his curiosity about life abroad.
“I’d love to come over here,” Munster told AAP following the final Test win in Leeds. “If I get the opportunity, I’d love to come over to England. You just never know.”
Munster made it clear his motivation wouldn’t be financial, saying any move would be about the experience and the challenge. “I’m not going to come over just to take the money,” he said. “If I wanted to take the money, I would’ve done it three or four years ago.”
The Queensland five-eighth reflected on his growth both as a footballer and as a person, crediting experience for his composure and consistency. “It’s crazy, the older you get, the smarter you get,” he said. “When you’re young, it’s all about the big play. Now I just understand the game a bit more.”
With State of Origin titles, an NRL premiership, and now Ashes glory under his belt, Munster said the recognition meant more than trophies — it was about legacy. “To have my name etched in history… to show my kids and grandkids that their dad played some footy and did OK, that’s really special.”
While still committed to the Storm and next year’s World Cup campaign, Munster admitted that if the timing suits his family, he’d be “more than happy” to finish his career in England.
Cameron Munster – Blindside Fantasy Analysis
Munster remains fantasy class but opens 2026 overpriced. Coming off a 50.2 average and likely priced near $660K, he offers little early cash value alongside Hughes. His output’s trended down from peak years (62 in 2022) and at 31, he’s past the heavy cash-gen stage. Still, he’s a proven match-winner and ideal run-home POD once prices correct. Avoid early, target late-season when value returns.
