Where do I start?

If you want to promote your new business, whether it’s a side hustle or the real deal, there’s a time when you sit down and think.. where do I actually start? Logo, colours, tagline... do you need to sharpen up the ‘ol 5 year business plan? Have you got your business name registered? Does it lend itself to what you do? What do you start with, facebook, website, business cards, business coach, accountant - there’s a few things to think about.

Well, after working for startups in various project, communications and marketing roles, and for traditional and digital agencies, I can safely say I have definitely helped other small businesses take the plunge. I’ve come to the realisation that the ‘helping’ is the bit I absolutely love - helping people do what they love and learning their craft while I’m there.

So, I’m now taking a big (giant) deep breath and launching my brand into the abyss and hoping to hook a few more loyal clients in. So, yes, now is the time to take my own advice and just DO IT. Go for it, you can refine later, I used to say. Sounds easy right?! Ah, I curse my own advice, but future Emma will (hopefully) be rolling in cash and chuckling! Steve Jobs didn’t sit back and wait for the right time now did he?! So I’m doing it. And here I am. Join me on my own small business journey and the humps and bumps along the way...
