Who remembers this deep slice of Sydney rave lore?
Back in 2014, Dreems played at the very first Boiler Room Sydney. Notably, the set featured Barney Kato, who introduced the world to the infamous Tune Towel—a gorgeous piece of techno ephemera conceived and created by Dreems himself that would be endlessly replicated in dance music culture ever since.
That moment marked the beginning of a new chapter for Angus Gruzman. Already a foundational figure in Sydney’s dance music scene as a member of Bang Gang (Gus Da Hoodrat forever), Gruzman went on to co-found Motorik! Record, then Multi Culti, pushing his sound across continents. Over the next decade, he embedded himself in the dance floors of Berlin and London, shaping and absorbing global club culture.
But for a brief moment, he’s back. Back in Sydney. Back at Motorik! For eight hours. In a warehouse. As it should be and always has been.
