Fireworks will light up skies around Tasmania tonight as communities ring in the New Year.
In Hobart, two eight-minute displays will be held over the River Derwent at 9:30pm and midnight, with viewing along the waterfront and at the Regatta Grounds overlooking Macquarie Point.
Launceston will host fireworks at 9:30pm and midnight at Royal Park alongside BeerFest, while Burnie and Devonport will also stage family-friendly celebrations and displays.
The RSPCA has urged pet owners to keep animals indoors, provide a safe, quiet space and ensure pets are properly identified, warning fireworks can cause significant distress to animals.
