OUT NOW! Episode 9: Tuned In with Charlotte Abroms (Hear Hear Group) - Perceptions

This was truly a pleasure to record and edit. We touched on some taboo topics surrounding expectations, perceptions, hierarchies and roles in the music industry. The conversation was so insightful and editing this had me excited all over again! Charlotte is a fountain of knowledge, experience and reflective insights.

You will likely have to listen more than once for all of the golden nuggets she drops to absorb and process properly! I really enjoyed this and felt like the conversation could have continued on forever.... should Charlotte and I start our own spin off podcast???

A bit about Charlotte:

Charlotte Abroms is a creative consultant and digital strategist based in Naarm/Melbourne.

She’s worked in Australia’s most revered agencies, managing complex web projects for government, health, arts and not-for-profit clients. She started out filming bands for her website Large Noises (co-founded with Eliza Hull and Jono Steer (Producer/Engineer)), where she voluntarily scouted and filmed over 50 local and international musicians performing live.

Under Charlotte’s guidance, the artists she has previously managed have won Aria_Official Awards, triple j Unearthed High, Vanda & Young, SXSW Grulke Prize, Australian Independent Record Labels Association Awards and multiple nominations for APRA AMCOS Awards and The Amp (Australian Music Prize).

Charlotte has toured the world with artists she’s managed. She’s the previous recipient of the Lighthouse Award, Outstanding AWMA Awards, Fast Track Fellowship and more recently partnered with APRA on Little Bridge and Creative Australia on the Engineer Residency, two initiatives designed to give opportunities to underrepresented folks in music.

Charlotte has dedicated her career to nurturing musicians and continues to mentor and guide some of Australia’s most unique talents.
