The guide has been authored by Australian Teachers of Media, inline with the current Australian Curriculum and is supported gratefully by The Wilderness Society and Birdlife Shoalhaven .

The Message of the Lyrebird community screening at Noosa last night. Thanks to all at Films in the Forest for a wonderful event.

The Message of the Lyrebird will screen in NOOSAVILLE (QLD) Sunday 26 July, 2026 @ 4PM-7PM.

This is a fundraising movie night for the Films in the Forest –– an annual event that takes place in the rainforest in October.

The fundraiser movie night event is held in the Noosa Environment Centre, a beautiful wooden building, surrounded by the forest in Noosaville, built by the Noosa Parks Association (NPA), Queensland’s oldest community-based conservation organisation.

There'll be a short screening before the feature film. Local community members, family, friends, environmentalists, filmmakers, artists, students, First Nations and Torres Strait Islanders representatives and individuals of all ages are welcome. [Kids under 14 free entry].

Yummy food, snacks, sweet treats and chai available at the event. BYO mat, cushion and/or blankets for super comfort. There are plenty of chairs available. Bring CASH for buying goodies and meals.

FREE CLASSROOM CINEMA PROGRAM. COMING SOON
With Schools Tree Day coming up, the award-winning bird mimicry movie Message of the The Message of the Lyrebird will be available for teachers, students, parents and education staff to stream for free during 24th July - 31st July 2026.

On behalf of our education impact partners, Birdlife Shoalhaven, and The Wilderness Society, Balangara Films is thrilled to be releasing this film for use and access to Australian educators. The program will be accompanied with a downloadable Study Guide (lesson resource) authored by the Australian Teachers of Media (ATOM), inline with the Australian Curriculum.
