Tempeh, mock meats, sauces, sweets, seasonings. Our haul from a trip to Vincent Vegetarian Food 🎉🙌

A veg/vegan grocery story in Footscray in Melbourne, Vincent Vegetarian Food makes their own products and I’ve never seen a range like this anywhere in Australia when it comes to vegan cooking sauces, mock meats and tempeh. Looking forward to trying black bean tempeh. 😍

These products would be particularly supportive of anyone new to veganism who wants to eat something with a familiar texture. 👍

What we love also is their products don’t have any garlic or onion. Everything they make under their own branding is garlic and onion free. Makes it easier to cater for a group with differing requirements. 🙌

They have both vegetarian and vegan products. A lot of the vegan products are well labelled with a vegan symbol and also ‘vegan’ written in big writing on the front of the label. 🎉

I got into the custard straight away. So good. Not super sweet.

‘Kind to All Kinds’ is a children’s book written by paediatric occupational therapist Mark Maddison.

Inspired by his desire to create a meaningful story for his daughter, Mark wrote the book to help children understand that all beings, including animals, have feelings and deserve kindness.

This is a genuinely urgent post and I am posting Stanford to get your attention — and tbh because his face is how I feel (really bloody angry).

We are super close to being able to force the government to acknowledge their betrayal of animals in the parliament.

But before that I need your help.

I shared last week that Jacinta Allan has confirmed she will not honour her government’s commitment to introduce the Animal Care and Protection Bill into parliament.

These laws which promised to us 10 years ago would replace the outdated, archaic and broken Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act.

A few months ago, after a spate of animal cruelty and neglect cases where authorities did not have the power to intervene, I sponsored a petition calling on her to keep her promise. It’s now more important than ever before.

We’re almost at 10,000 signatures – and if we reach that target, it will be debated in the parliament.

The government will be forced to respond to their betrayal to animals – and to the people of Victoria.

So, if you’re a Victorian resident and want to see the government held to account, please sign the petition below.

To get it on the agenda for debate before the end of the year, we need to reach our goal today.

I finally made it to Vega Cafe!

It’s so nice!

I had the ‘Before 4’ (gf version). So yummy and pretty!

The decor and atmosphere is lovely. The location is pretty handy from Central station (about 10 min walk with a bit of a steep incline). No steps into the cafe and in the surrounding outdoor tables so fairly wheelchair accessible (small pathways inside the cafe but outside is fine and can order using the QR code from the table).

Can’t wait to come back to try more of the menu.

What’s a cafe or restaurant in Brisbane you would recommend? Keen to step out of my comfort zone and experience new places.

Supporting vegan small businesses is the best!
