🚫🍺 1 - 31 July. In loving memory of Josef, I miss you. 1946-2024
I am giving up my love of beer for the month of July to raise money for Dreams2Live4. My dad had his dream granted, so I am taking part to make sure they can continue to grant dreams to adults with terminal cancer.

Today (17th June) marks one year since Dad’s passing, and I promised myself that I would commit to a fundraising activity for Dreams2Live4 this year.
I can’t begin to tell you how wonderful this charity is because you just had to be there, watching them work magic to organise last minute holidays, experiences, and even weddings (just to name a few kinds of Dreams) for people who have been told that their cancer has spread or is no longer treatable. Their gift of granting Dad’s Dream brought our family a slice of happiness, so I owe them everything for that.

It has been a very long time since I have posted anything, let alone a , but here's a quick one!

released a flanker (perfumery term for variant) to his debut EDP, Embrace, which was inspired by his lovely wife .
After talking to somebody about this variant and seeing that it contains a lot of notes I generally gravitate towards in perfumes, I was in so I figured I would give it a sniff. No testers, but the 30ml was $10, so I bought it.
The main thing that drew me to this perfume was its inclusion of Black Cherry, Night Blooming Jasmine (if you're into David Lynch, you know), and woody base notes.
It reminds me of my B&BW Vampire Blood body wash, albeit more floral and less fruity, however, they do seem to meld together when layered.
This perfume is INTENSE, like hardcore intense, in its floral forwardness. It lasts for ages on the skin and wafts everywhere, so I can say its longevity is excellent. I wish it leaned more fruity and woody than floral. It's dark like the night, very sensual and mysterious, a bit mature, but still playful. I get the romance factor inspiration behind this, Guy & Jules are a great couple that will last the test of time, so this is meant to *embrace* that relationship.
I don't know if I like it as much as I do in theory, but it has its place in my collection, when I need something heavy in florals.

Hi, I’m alive and meh, so nothing out of the usual. I’ve been crafting and watching too much TV lately. It’s finally cozy loungewear weather!
I wanted to revive my loungewear “lounge goth” design and I parodied White Fox Boutique’s style because almost every single tween/teen is running around in these.
Design was done in Inkscape, I had a few issues with the puff vinyl, so I had to redo the back, but the redo was out of alignment because I did each letter individually.
Thanks to for helping me with the design sizing!
Base hoodie and trackies are from and the vinyl is from AliExpress.
Cut using my Maker.

A little wordy down here ⬇️ (TW: skin picking)
I didn’t pick at my skin or squeeze anything for 9 days while I was down in Naarm/Melbourne and I came back to some of the worst congestion of my life, so naturally, I went back to plucking my brows and squeezing my pores until I made my skin angry.
The photo here was taken a week ago, and it improved from there, but I made it worse by going “digging for gold” when I got home.
Old habits die hard, I guess.

Foreword: these are not for sale and I do NOT take commissions; I do craft as a form of therapy and I’d like to keep it that way.
This is Roxy, my Aunty’s doggo. She crossed the rainbow bridge in November at the age of 14 (or 15?) after giving close to 11 wonderful years to my aunt and uncle. She came from a not so great home, and found herself the queen of the house, and the best older sister to newcomer Bella.
This particular illustration took me months as it was very detailed, and I spent a while getting her shadows right. I also had to make it larger than my usual plaques because of the level of detail (it was a nightmare to w**d the vinyl)!

I forgot to bring deodorant/antiperspirant with me, so it’s time for another edition of Rivet Goes Grocery Shopping featuring .au.

I usually use roll on, but I do miss that cool feeling of aerosol, so I ended up choosing the Gem Skin-Loving Deodorant in the Cool Fresh scent.
Despite being labelled a deodorant, it does contain aluminium salts, so it should also act as an antiperspirant, which is what I am going for.
It’s pricier than what I usually go for (*cough* Aldi roll on *cough*) but I’ll give it a shot. If I don’t feel all sticky and stinky after shvitzing, I’ll know it does the job.

Happy new year!
I took a break from content over the holidays to work on some art projects. I’ve been practicing inking and illustration, plus I’ve made some tshirts, stickers, decals and such.
I am going to be away as of next week, heading down to Naarm/Melbourne for a bit before coming back and I guess I’ll be doing the things I need to around the house. I have no solid plans as yet, but it will involve a lot of flatpacks!
Hope everybody takes care and stays cool this summer. Remember to wear sun protection!
